Pennsylvania Race

Apparently this state is much more liberal than I thought...

http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/news/regional/s_788643.html

"I was really rooting for Santorum because he's from Pennsylvania, but I switched over to Romney because I think he has a better chance of beating Obama and that he'd do a better job of running this country like a business," said poll participant Rick Bierer, 51, a factory worker from Ford City.

"I'm torn between Santorum and Romney. I'm probably leaning toward Romney because I think he has a better chance of beating Obama," said Katherine Maurer, 72, a legal secretary from Washington.

Morons...

Lived here for the last eight years and I've seen more than my share of useful idiots. They replaced Santorum with Bob Casey, an empty suit copy of Obama who said he was against abortion as well but voted 100% with Obama on every issue.

Bummer.

But being in Minnesota I can sympathize.  If not for control of House & Senate (which I hope we retain) the state would be a complete write off.

At least PA wasn't the only state in the union to not vote for Reagan in '84!  We have that ignominious honor.

I regret to admit your conclusion is correct, Libertas.

Pittsburgh and Philly are hopelessly democrat.
Influx in the north east part of the state with New Yorkers
Out here in the boonies, we're fairly conservative.
The center of the state is pretty conservative except for Happy Valley

But not terribly so

Toomey is the first senator that could be calledl conservative in generations. Literally.
Notice, I don't call Santorum a conservative.

In my district in 2010, we did replace a blue dog with a Republican who is not a Tea Party type. He has gone along with Boner every time.

Next district over was Murtha's. Need I say more?

It's inexplicable or maybe too difficult to understand how a state that has
been such a strong producer: oil, coal, steel, glass and agriculture does
not see and rebel [vote] against the unions and more government control.

I agree Charles.
It's frustrating

In 2010, there was a real Tea Party candidate who didn't get much of a blip.
Really good guy
There were a couple other conservatives, too

Just read this in the CQ Daily Roll Call

Quote
Obama’s favorable in that Washington Post-ABC poll is at 53 percent — and yet another set of polls, by Quinnipiac University, shows the president ahead of Romney in three of the most important battleground states : 49 percent to 42 percent in Florida, 47 to 41 in Ohio and 45 to 42 in Pennsylvania.

Romney's in a statistical dead heat with Santorum in Pa. Chances are very good Santorum will lose . That could be the writing on the wall that even he can read .

Reason number one why I hate the Steelers. The people couldn't be bothered to replace a despicable ex-marine like Murtha. Screw'em all.

Johnstown is a lot closer to Happy Valley than Pittsburgh.

Another strike against Rubio...

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/03/28/rubio-endorses-romney-saying-hes-earned-it/

"Romney offers "a very clear alternative" to President Obama's vision for the future of the country."

Just about anybody plucked off the street could potentially have a very clear alternative vision than Barry!  And the same could also be said of Willard!

I'm liking Rubio less and less every day.
Iread the other day about his plans for a new DREAM Act, not sure but I think he was for NDAA

But, he's better than Charlie Crist.
And he's still not eligible for VP

These people supporting Romney because they say he's the only who can beat BO drive me nuts!  That's their criteria? It's based on what? There's no proof that's true. That's as useful as believing in hope and change without a plan.

I think a lot of them want Romney because it's easier.  Anyone else requires more--a recognition that our problems won't be easily solved, more effort to get conservative candidates in office and to support them.

Support Romney and you can keep your head in the sand.

On the money with that.   This thing is closer to an open convention than they want
to admit.  Notice that the same one's saying an open convention will hurt our chances
of electing a Pubby are the same one's chanting for Mittens.

At an open convention the E-Pub power will be greatly diminished and will also bring
a lot of press to all of our candidates which will finally penetrate to and get the attention
of the mushies.  They are afraid Rush's axiom will prove true.

Yeah, not liking this!

Ryan set to endorse Willard...the herd mentality kicks in...

 ::facepalm::

And Newt in meetings with Willard?  WTF?!  I smell a dirty deal!
