Greetings from Pennsylvania!
« on: April 01, 2012, 03:49:11 PM »
I found this site through a fellow HotAir commentor's link, and after looking at some of the posts where I commented today, I regret to say I don't remember whose name it was. But I extend my thanks to them for showing me the way here.

I'm a noob at HotAir, too, finally making it in during the first open registration back in October? November? I forget when exactly, because there was another a week or so later. I was lucky enough to get onto Michelle Malkin's site last year, so this site will complete the trifecta.

A little about myself: obviously, I'm from western Pennsylvania (the wrong side of the Commonwealth, according to people in Philly), conservative, Catholic (definitely not cafeteria!), in a profession I've loved even before I knew what it was called: graphic design, a (very) amateur guitarist, a singer in my church choir, a pop music freak since I was a kid, and over the past couple years, very interested in politics.

One day I typed into Google the phrase "conservative blogs," and found this: http://www.conservatismtoday.com/my_weblog/2008/08/conservatism-to.html]Conservatism Today's 24 Best Conservative Blogs[/url], and added a bunch of them as RSS feeds to my Google home page. The rest, as they say, is history. :) Thanks for being here!

That is high praise considering the other two mentioned.
In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

It's always nice to know that there are so many other conservatives out there. We are the not-so-silent majority.

Welcome to the forum PatriotGal. Glad you found your way here!

Please feel free to dive in anywhere at your discretion, and if we can be of any assistance, pipe up!
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Thanks, IDP! I have been looking around a bit; haven't had enough time to explore everything, but I'm sure I'll find lots of things to comment on. Not only that, but I am looking forward to learning more about everything you have to offer here. I'm sure I'll be here a while ... maybe decades ... for as long as you're here! LOL

Kittanning! That's a nice little town. Been there several times over the years.

One common denominator is that practically everyone on this forum has been banned from other "conservative" sites due to, ahem, "tone".  It is something of a badge of honor.  Truth gets delivered intravenously around here.

Thanks, I will.

Got a little busy over the past month or so and didn't have time to check in, but it's good to be back.
