I had the same reaction as you. I think it's laughter of the "we have to laugh at this because if we acknowledge just how serious it is that means we must also acknowledge that we're not doing anything about it, and are therefore the cowards she says we are" sort.
It also illustrates how much resistance there is to simple truth even on our side. This gathering was probably of mostly Tea Party types, and even among them you heard snickering, particularly from the female nearest the camera. She had one inane comment after another.
If you simply do the math on it, there's nothing at all prophetic about anything Ann says. It's about as prophetic as saying 2 plus 2 equals 4. That what she says comes across as strident and shocking, that's just a testament to how far down the drain this civilization has gone. For all our talk about Leviathan, we must also recognize that we have a depraved population. Only a good hard dose of reality will cure them, and a large number of them simply aren't going to survive the cure.
