Russian Opposition Leader Alexei Navalny, 47
« on: February 16, 2024, 08:46:54 AM »
Vladimir Putin’s fiercest critic, Alexei Navalny, died in a brutal penal colony Friday, having been locked up since returning home following a nerve agent poisoning widely assumed to have been an assassination attempt.

The Russian opposition leader was 47.

Russia’s Federal Penitentiary Service claimed that “the convict” collapsed and died after he “felt unwell” during a walk at the IK-3 penal colony in remote Kharp, about 1,200 miles northeast of Moscow.

Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny died in a maximum-security prison in the country's far north, the Interfax news service reported Friday, citing the Federal Penitentiary Service.

47 year old Navalny, a major critic of President Vladimir Putin, vanished in December from a prison in the Vladimir region where he was serving a three-decade term for extremism and fraud charges that he had called political payback for his anti-Kremlin stance a decade ago. He had no expectations of getting out of jail as long as Putin was in power.

He later emerged in a remote Arctic prison camp, ending nearly three weeks in which his whereabouts were unknown, after he was moved from a prison outside Moscow.

"On February 16, 2024, in penal colony No. 3, convict A.A. Navalny felt unwell after a walk, almost immediately losing consciousness," Interfax said, citing the country's prison service.

The Russian news agency continued: "The facility's medical workers immediately arrived at the scene and an emergency medical team was called in. All necessary resuscitation measures have been carried out, but they did not yield positive results. Emergency medics confirmed the death of the convict."

Navalny's death leaves any opposition to Putin in question. All of Putin's top adversaries are now either deceased, imprisoned, or living in exile.

Navalny was, undoubtedly, the biggest thorn in the Kremlin’s side. For over a decade, he led nationwide protests against the authorities, ran for office to challenge members of the Russian establishment and set up a network of campaign offices across the country that have since been dismantled.

Of course, the timing of Navalny's death shortly after Tucker Carlson's interview with Russian President Putin has set the socials on fire.

Russians never lost their love for gulags no matter the government...

Of course, Dinesh is 100% correct...all the demonazi angst over Navalny's death are hypocritical...given the Putinesque treatment they are unloading on Trump and his supporters!!!

We can mourn and cast blame for the demise of Navalny...demonazis have no moral authority to do so.

Navalny? If poisoned why do the Russians suck at it? See also the Skirpals? I could do a better job killing. Where are the Skirpals BTW?

I recall Russia sent Navalny to Berlin for treatment. Then Russia asked for the blood tests results and Berlin refused saying it was a state secret. WTF?

I heard he had a 3 pct approval rating in Russia?  I recall some video where he is asking the US for millions which kinda makes him a foreign agent.

BTW there was an episode of The Americans where she 'trips' and stabs a guy in the angle with her umbrella. Poison BUT there is an antidote which his maid mom will receive if she plants a bug in the home office of Casper Weinberger. I loved that show;

Here is the video I remember.

It’s never good to be caught on camera attempting a coup in your country with a foreign intel service.

In this video, Navalny's top aide Vladimir Ashurkov is asking MI6 Officer James William Thomas Ford for $10-20 Million a year to start a color revolution in Russia.

This is why he was arrested. And has major implications especially in light of the CIA and MI6 sabotaging the Trump administration.

The Duran said that he got a respectable number of votes for mayor of Moscow but went downhill after that. Also, Alex said he was in Moscow when there was a pro Navalny demonstration with 1000 to 1500 people, mostly kinda ragged looking. I recall some 3 pct number long ago, maybe his nationwide approval rating.

Navalny’s obituary includes the founding of an organization, "Democratic Alternative" or "Da!"

Wikileaks confirms "Da!" received money from the US government through the National Endowment for Democracy.

And, if you noticed why the media is saying Trump had no comment on Navalny death (even Faux News)...this is why:

- Alexei Navalny's political activities were funded by the US government through the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) as part of an effort to repeat  US-backed 2014 Ukraine regime change inside Russia itself;

- The Western media had previously (and reluctantly) revealed Navalny as far-right, racist, and xenophobic despite efforts to pass him off as a progressive pro-democracy activist;

- US government-funded polling agencies consistently found Alexei Navalny  extremely unpopular in Russia with single digit approval ratings;

- After an alleged 2020 "Novichok" poisoning, Navalny's popularity "surged" to 20% as the Western media accused Moscow of being behind the incident;

- The US is now exploiting the death of Navalny to advance its anti-Russia policy while the Western media collective omits all relevant context regarding Navalny's background and US funding;

I always look to the obvious...who has the most to gain from the lack of political opposition in Russia?  Do nations like to meddle in the affairs of others?  All the time, and everybody does it...I have yet to find an innocent.  The West likes NGO's and the Dollar, Russia favors energy monopoly...China favors economic warfare, stealing Western tech and throwing Renminbi around...

And the world turns...

LOL, Russian nationalist fascist antisemite...

Uhh, who didn't dislike Jews in USSR?  Both strains of socialism - fascism and communism had that in common...though the latter would exploit the expertise of many where the latter just threw them into camps and ovens...

And what is Putin?  A Nationalist...which most people lump into the fascist camp.  Does Communist China like Nationalists?  Ask a Taiwanese and the answer is an obvious no.

People leading off with crap like that I tend to discount and tune out...

Ad hom attacks as a lead in seems to always indicate an agenda-driven government stooge...  No different than Ukes leading into Rus with a sub-human pigs line...

I heard that long ago about navalny. He was important only in the west. I recall his platform was to drive Muslims out of Russia. His serpent ex wife has even less support. I recall he did some clumsy fraud and got caught. His ex wife is a little too transparent.
