Bob and Nancy Straight
« on: May 09, 2012, 01:50:09 AM »
Bob Straight,  bronze star recipient for his activity while participating in the D-Day invasion at Normandy succumbed to injuries, Friday, caused by a thug committing a home invasion and robbery.  His wife, Nancy, died March 15, of injuries from the same attack.

May you both rest in the peace.

What a miserable and devastating end for what seem like such good people.   ::praying::

May they rest with the righteous.
My doctor told me to start killing people.  Not in those exact words, she said I had to reduce the stress in my life.

Same thing.

RIP Bob & Nancy, you'll be resting in a peaceful place...this other fellow has a far more unpleasant destiny awaiting him.

Bob and Nancy will rejoice in His Glory. The other guy, not so much....

God help me if I come across someone doing violence to an old person.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Or a child.

Many people think the job of a soldier is to kill and destroy, but it isn't really.

It's to defend the innocent and protect the weak.
