Are you ready for Romney/Huckabee?
For now, it isn’t clear whether Huckabee is going to be vetted, or that he’s anywhere near Romney’s short list. But he is, at the very least, being discussed…

The VP is just for show.

If the Huckster is chosen, it will be to bring in the evangelicals who may not be that fond of voting for a Mormon

Let's HOPE he has as much chance being chosen as Chris Christie.
He should pick, as VP, someone who will carry more of the South
than Arkansas.

If he has any sense he will pick someone to help him gain some bonafides with conservatives. He has to know that conservatives don't trust him, and that even though they will probably vote for him just because he's not Obama, they won't be enthusiastic about it. Energizing conservatives would be the smart thing to do.

Of course, let the damn Rovians get involved and he'll be picking Charlie Crist or the recently-become-available Dick Lugar.

Funny how that has just become a meaningless technicality now.  People still push Rubio too.  But both that and the Jindal suggestion underscore everything wrong with the GOP and their political ineptitude. They show how they've bought into all the Left's premises by trying to check off as many diversity boxes as possible. And on top of that, it never even pans out for them.  I can only wonder how much of the Left's advancement in our country is due to their own ambition vs. the ineptitude of their nominal opposition.

According to the Politico piece to which you linked, Haley Barbour, Mississippi's {eta - FORMER} Governor, thinks Jindal is just the cat's meow.  Barbour, as a highly respected Republican, should know better.  That he either doesn't, or doesn't care about a "meaningless technicality", leaves me alternating between despair and outrage.  I'm really weary of saying "not eligible" only to have it waved away with rolling eyes.

Among the requirements for President, one must be born of two American citizen-parents to avert the possibility of dual-country loyalties and citizenship.

There is doubt that Rubio's parents were citizens -- not residents -- at the time of his birth.

Jindal's parents were not citizens at the time of his birth.
