Dated 1882. Hard to improve on some of those old models. Except now we have rimfire cartridges for just that.

It looks a little pricey and not exactly weather resistant.

Effective, I'm sure, but a small thermonuclear device would also get the job done.
In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.
