Not for nuthin', but I found the site when I was looking for the proper spelling for "moulignon", as somebody in a comment to a post *somewhere* referred to Blacks as "moolies", which is a short version.
Moo-lin-yon.
Funny thing is, there was this singer in the 50s-60s named Lou Monte (immigrant from Italy or born here, I dunno) who recorded a song called "Pepino the Italian Mouse" (Sung in a pastiche of both Calabrese and English, "Pepino the Italian Mouse" tells the humorous tale of a mischievous mouse who lives within the walls of a man's kitchen and who comes out at night to eat cheese, drink wine, frighten Lou's girlfriend when she comes over...and befriends the cat, sent out to catch him. So sez Wiki. And Pepino used to appear on The Ed Sullivan Show) in which Monte exclaims, "And what a moulignon!", which was, and still is, confusing to me because the damn mouse wasn't black.
Okay. Now you know how I got ... there.
