One of the main problems with the modern USA is that there's simply too many damn people living in it. The rugged individualism of the past may be a relic of agrarian society, that disappeared along with it. We have too many limp-wristed metrosexual latte sippers now. Such people are terrified of living outside the confines of the human zoo.

What we need is a two million strong constant protest at Washington for two months. Sounds like a tall order considering that most of us constitute the productive class however if we take turns being there one day say every two weeks and another to take our place the next and so on, we can put enough pressure on the cowards of DC at both parties to have them pissing themselves then will we get what we demand, our Liberty. We must demand the republic be taken back to the time before the progressive "deemed passed" 16 and 17 amendments.

My rhetorical question above asking "what happened to the the signers of the Declaration" was made knowing full well the tragic consequences that almost all of them suffered for their belief in human rights and liberty.

How about a 2 million armed  people just go in and occupy the place? Its what the founders would have done.  Our leaders  already made it quite clear they don't give a rats ass what we think, care even less about the Constitution,   and they won't until we make them. They are illegitimate tyrants, and the Tree of liberty is thirsty.  Protests will accomplish nothing.
We need to make it so that each and every one of our traitorous representatives is afraid to walk among us.

Ditto. I cannot celebrate. Its a farce. Liberals pretending to be patriotic when they have sold out every principle we have relied upon.
I hope God creates a new, lower level of hell for them.

1 - We are celebrating our independence after just losing it in the supreme court
          - Do we celebrate what we once had but now we’ve lost?
          - Kind of like singing Amazing Grace when I once was saved, but now I’m lost.

2 - We’ve fought the war with Britain for our freedom from their onerous taxes, only to have our supreme court tell us that now, our government has unlimited taxing authority over us as a special gift for Independence Day.

I think what concerns me most of all is that there has been a quite deliberate effort since the mid-60s to dramatically alter the American population. The Left has enacted policies that opened floodgates to people who have no historical or emotional connection to America. While we perceive a great sense of loss over what is happening, a substantial portion of the population just shrugs its shoulders. "What's the big deal? It was all just a bunch of racist old white men anyway." The lack of an emotional bond to ones country is a type of damage that will prove fatal to it.

You are right to voice that concern, there is a concerted effort to dilute the American demographic with immigrants more likely to vote themselves privileges as clients of the state, but they are also attracted to immigrate BECAUSE of the history of "freedom" here.  Having said that, I take heart from knowing that the membership of the NRA, the American Legion, and the VFW is far larger than any other standing army in the world...so if we can get enough of them to put down the barbecue and baked beans long enough to stroll into DC with their guns in hand, no telling what might happen.

Although I suspect a few lampposts might sport new decoration.

Depends on the immigrants.  We have a majority culture that full well understands freedom=liberty, or used to -- in the American sense.  Today's immigrants are encouraged to "honor their heritage", which for most part have socialist underpinnings, while being DIScouraged from understanding just how a bunch of old dead White guys are largely responsible for the notion of freedom they see differently than we.  It was not always thus.  Most no longer come here because they want to BE American; they come so they can have what Americans have without having to give up "their culture".

Yes.  I'm gawdamned bitter about it.

Watched the fireworks last night.  Lame.  They went fine until the end.  When they just ended.  No grand finale.  The crowd just sat there expecting a big finish.

Nothing.

My husband said outloud "Get used to it.  It's Obama's fault."
