Well if mixing human genes with animals is cutting edge science, this should give Obama some more opportunities to help make Muslims feel good about their contributions. They've been mixing human genes with animals for centuries!   ::exitstageleft::

I'm sure the University of Nevada-Reno is reaching out to NASA as we speak.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

As strange as his work may sound, it falls firmly within the new ethics guidelines the influential National Academies issued this past week for stem cell research.

Biological mixing of species

But the biological co-mingling of animal and human is now evolving into even more exotic and unsettling mixes of species, evoking the Greek myth of the monstrous chimera, which was part lion, part goat and part serpent.

They should NOT be doing this.

Yep. The groundwork for the new grievance groups is being setup. One day it will be bigotry to say that only natural humans are human. Much like the Left currently attacks anyone for using the word "normal". They really hate that.

But don't worry, gay marriage is definitely not a slippery slope! /sarc

Scientists have put a roach in the driver’s seat of an electric powered vehicle and sent it around their laboratory in this Weird Connections production. This bizarre experiment is no joke. It could be the first step in creating a new, seamless interface between brains and machines. This stunning high-definition movie will serve as the springboard for a lively discussion about the science behind the beauty and wonder of nature. Aidyl Gonzalez-Serricchiio, a researcherin biology, will introduce the film and guide the post-screening discussion. Recommended for ages 8 and up.

We are so far past and beyond the “long train of abuses and usurpations” that the Colonists and Founders experienced and which necessitated the Revolutionary War that they aren’t even visible in the rear-view mirror.

Speaking of this bio-electronic fusion, I saw a documentary where biologists were able to tap into the electrical impulses on the optic nerve of a horseshoe crab. They were able to produce a crude image on a video monitor of what the horseshoe crab saw. It was crazy. Their vision is simple, it looks sort of like those early digital image effects from the 70s, like those novelty T-shirts with a photo represented as big blocky pixels.

I'm guessing a lot of this BS is funded privately, or umm, by (cough) you and me via government grants, earmarks or Obama-stash give-aways!
