Ryan Wins The Veepstakes
« on: August 10, 2012, 11:30:18 PM »
Breaking...

NBC News is reporting this now in a Special Report (interrupting Olympic coverage).

Brooks and Frum hardest hit.

Checked Drudge and FNC and they are (so far) not reporting this. They are saying that the official announcement will be tomorrow morning.

FNC:

Mitt Romney will announce his running mate at 8:45 a.m. ET Saturday in Norfolk, Va., Fox News confirms.

LINK

The site for the announcement is the Nauticus Museum which just happens to be the home of the USS Wisconsin.

Drudge is reporting that Romney has already called all of the finalists. So there you have it.

Personally, I couldn't be happier with a veep nominee who David Frum says would be the worst possible choice. That's about as good an endorsement as one could hope to receive.

So, he's going for 50.
Ryan is a good man, he could have picked
a good man without dragging one of the
few from the House.  Thank goodness he
picked a good man and not some doofass.

With Wisconsin possibly in the "toss up" column this move may push it into the red zone.

The link from NBC News...

Three different sources close to the Romney campaign indicate to NBC News that Mitt Romney will announce House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan as his vice-presidential running mate at tomorrow's campaign event in Norfolk, VA.

Should be an interesting veep debate between Ryan and Slow Joe.

The AoS report.

Ed Morrissey at HotAir reports.

The Weekly Standard announced it first although it was not a firm announcement.

I like Ryan. I like him a lot. He's not perfect. But he's among the best we could hope for, he's likable, and he's well regarded in Wisconsin. Turning Wisconsin against the Leftists once and for all would be... sweet.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

He's young, articulate, economically astute. I like the choice. I like that he was chosen even with his supposed Medicare/SS "baggage" stemming from his budget proposal. It means Romney is perhaps prepared to show more guts than expected.

Assuming these leaks are accurate, of course.

Ryan destroys the Dingus...

I enjoy watching the O'Bumbler do a slow burn every time I see this video. You know, in his heart of hearts, he wants some of his Chicago thugs to take Ryan out back and torture him to death.

Ryan basically sits across from the doofus and says (in effect) to his face: "Your plan is basically bullsh*t and you are an idiot."

(Plus it's also fun to see the camera zoom out at the end where you can see Biden working on his coloring book.)

EDIT: Breitbart lists off the various clues that point to Ryan as the pick.

FNC finally puts the story up at their site.

And he's actually a natural born citizen and eligible.
I think he's a pretty good choice. I wouldn't consider him a Constitutionalist but his fiscal credentials are top of the line

Now we can start to talk about the economy with somebody that's completely up to speed and can acually articulate the points clearly and accurately.

Maybe he drop kicked TPOS out of the room.  With Romney working the
budget and Ryan working SS they may become know as the dynamic duo.

Puts the RINOs & AINOs into a corner, support the ticket in full or STFD & STFU.

Also puts Team Hopium in a corner, the last thing Obama wants is his ass handed to him by that upstart honkey know-it-all from Wisconsin, they're gonna go negative like nobody has gone negative before.

So it's back on Mitt to grow a big set and become a junkyard dog and chew up some Barry!

But no worries, right?  Not like much rides on this election...it just might be the last free one is all...
