As long as they don't get goofy and have Alternative night, makes good business sense.  No doubt the typical kill-joys will be out to snuff this.

This sounds like the Applebee’s here in town. I've only been there once as I don't care much for their food.

I don't know about other regions, but all the Applebee's here in MN have had a full bar as a centerpiece for as long as I can remember.

We ate out late back in my home town last year.  I found the new karaoke bar irritating, myself.
