Breitbart has a recap of last night's suckfest here if anyone is interested.
In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

I couldn't do it--I didn't watch.

I got the highlights from my daughter who wanted to watch and laugh.

Only it's not really funny.

It's sad.

I caught about 3 or 4 minutes of the Great Ape and it was all I could stomach. Good Lord, how I loathe these people.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

- Thomas Jefferson

And another, from a more local source:

"Not that it matters, but I think in this instance "belong" means to be a part of or member (like I belong to a church or club), and to have a place in (like "This is where I belong").  So yes, I am proud to belong to the government."

 ::facepalm::

I have no doubt that most of the kids over at our local high school think their rights come from the government...'cuz that's where the laws come from that tell you what you can do...

I suspect most of the respondents in that video were interpreting "belong" to mean "a part of" - thing is- when you belong to a church or club and make payments, its voluntary,  there are  rules.  But a lot of those  people compared govt to a family ala Lakoffs Mommy and Daddy govt model.  You don't choose family.  Your family has implicit rights to demand your "help" - the liberals are simply tribal- and you will "belong" to their tribe voluntarily  or be enslaved to it at the point of a gun and they have no problem with that .

Obama dreaded speech kicked to smaller venue...Demochickens cite 20% chance of weather   ::hysterical::  as the reason, not the astounding lack of interest being shown in what the SCoaMF has to spout on about!

Like, what is he going to say?  Anything new?  Anything other than blaming Bush, blaming Romney, blaming Ryan, blaming everybody but his decisions and those of his cohorts in Congress?

I'd be looking to avoid it like the plague too!

Wasn't that the whole point, recreating a Nuremberg Rally?

They adore "belonging to the government" because that's the entity that will gladly and uncritically own them.  And eat them.

Obama can walk on water.....his followers can't so he is showing compassion towards them.

I suspect most of the respondents in that video were interpreting "belong" to mean "a part of" -

Even in this regard, they are wrong, unless they have a taxpayer-funded job, and even then it's known as "being *with* the ________ Department".

As cynical as I am, Weisshaupt, these people managed to shock me.  Anybody that continues to hold the theory that Romney winning the upcoming election is going to *fix* this, or anything else in a major way, is deluding themselves.
