Ollie says,
« on: September 17, 2012, 03:00:26 PM »

“I give all of our grandsons — not when they’re born, but a little bit later because their moms insisted on it — I give each one of them three presents,” North explained. “The three presents are a shotgun, a Bible and a note with a compass attached to it.”

“I say that if you learn to use all three — the shotgun, the Bible and the compass — you will never be lost, you will never be hungry and you need fear nothing, but you must learn to use all three. So number thirteen will get his when he turns twelve.”

That is an excellent model to follow.

I might have to have a talk with my sister & BIL, my Nephew just turned thirteen.

I've been wondering how to broach the subject of getting the boy introduced responsibly to firearms and this could be a good practice to emulate.

I wish I had thought of that with my sons. ::bashing::

Grandson #1 is 2 yrs old, so I can still use it on him. ::cool::
