I'm a conservative Christian from Texas currently dating a liberal from Oakland, and we have a simple and effective way of dealing with it.
On each new topic, we simply have a rational conversation about the merits and externalities of the government's role in the issue. She's a rational person, so she stops arguing when she realizes her position is indefensible.
I'm generally safe so long as I say a thousand miles away from anything that could get me called racist – like bringing up actual cases of election fraud. I haven’t figured out how to defuse the “THAT’S RACIST” dismissal that was hard wired into her brain while growing up in San Fran.

Writing somebody off because of HOW they voted and not WHY says more about the person casting the judgement: they are quick to assume much and shallow. It's like not dating people based on skin color, even though that black man/woman could be African-British or that brown skinned individual could be a 3rd generation Americanized immigrant who is more American than their own ethnic-culture background. The WHY is the most important and interesting part, and without talking to and getting to know a person it will remain unknown.
Shocking news to some: Not all liberals are socialists, and not all republicans are religious zealots. Don't judge a book by its cover, you may miss an amazing story.
A story that will always end in you getting taken. All liberals believe that their values and desires trump the individual rights of anyone else. ALL LIBERALS. That is why they vote to enact Obamacare and violate the rights of conscience, right to property, right to affiliation and right to live under the LIMITED government we agreed to You cannot overlook that the other side has NO RESPECT for your rights and NO REGARD OR LOVE for you as a person. They "love you" only so much as you make them feel good. The second you don't they can drop you with no feeling of remorse or loss what-so-ever.
ALL LIBERALS. And I dare anyone who doubts me to put it to the test.
There are of course people who have no set beliefs- and no consistent view of the world. In more peaceful and civilized times that is all well and good, but when there is a strong political will trying to subjugate you, not caring and not thinking about it makes you a moron, and subsequently not good dating material either
At any rate, us moderates are a rapidly dwindling breed, which I think speaks to the diminishing of reasonable, open-minded, intellectual discourse in the public sphere.
Right. You are above the fray. You vote Democrat too, Mr. independent. Why, because you like to perceive and portray yourself as better than others. You can't BE reasonable with people who won't engage in argument or discuss anything rationally, and who wish to subjugate you to their desires and will using the government's guns. The only reason that wouldn't concern you is because you are too stupid to find the loss of your liberty to be an issue. Go along to Get along gets you nowhere with rapists, thieves and democrats.

If you deny reality, and can't propose a rational interpretation of the fact, and don't even see a need to, then you ARE stupid. If this then leads you to beleive other people are chattel to be enslaved to buy you power and implement your (irrational) agenda at the point of a gun, you ARE evil.

Diversity is just another liberal mantra to force people to "accept" those with whom they disagree. Notice there is no push to accept decency, to acknowledge God, to support family values. No, diversity has become a tool to force people to pretend they think homosexuality is normal, that women murdering their unborn children is decent, and entire swaths of the population living without fathers in welfare homes is progress.

If you truely believe this is what diversity means, I feel bad for you man. You insinuate that you only like people who push to accept your definitions of decenty, to acknowledge your God, and to support your interpretation of family values. Diversity isn't a "liberal mantra". Take a look in the mirror and wake up. Diversity goes both ways, and I have to "accept" you and your close minded ideas, even though we disagree. I'm okay with that, but obviously you arn't.
I'm not even a liberal, but your kind of BS thinking stinks up the entire GOP. Try loving thy neighbor and letting God judge and I bet you'll live a happier life. Obviously the burden of judging masses of people you don't know is wearing down your mental fortitude.
I have to tolerate you and your closed minded ideas... that is going to keep me laughing all day. We never agreed to give the government this sort of power. We never agreed to the tyranny of the majority brought on by a "Democracy" - but I can loose my job, be sued, or even jailed for voicing my opinion. Diversity doesn't go both ways because on the F'ing liberals want to use the government as a weapon against those who don't think as they do.
