Marinetbryant passed away ...
« on: October 30, 2012, 10:30:15 AM »
On October 3rd, per RickZ.

IIRC, he was with us on PLF, a bit at Conservative Talk, but made his home at Grouchy's, even though he'd signed up here, too.

RIP Tom.

The Admins at GCP got this in response to one of thsoe 'you haven't posted in a while' emails:

Quote
Hi Mike -

My name is Amanda Bryant. I am Tom's daughter. I am not sure how you knew my dad, but he passed away earlier this month. He had lung cancer that had spread to his lymph nodes, his brain, and other parts of his body. The first indication we had that something was wrong was in July and he didn't tell very many people. He then went into the hospital at the end of September with colon issues. Dad was very unhappy in the hospital and chose to go home. He passed much sooner than we expected, we thought we may have a few months up to a year. The cancer was worse than we realized. He reported no pain on the day he passed. He passed away surrounded by family. I was with him along with his mother, little sister, and nephew.
I'm sorry for not reaching out sooner. I am still going through everything.
He passed away on October 3. Per his request, he had a graveside service with immediate family.

Jeepers. He was indeed one of "us" at powerline. He was one of the people from back then that I always wished would have commented here.

Enjoy your new home Tom.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Now there was a gent I just liked. No nonsense, no games - you always knew exactly where you & he stood.
It saddens me to learn of his passing.
RIP my friend.
