  • Hippies smell bad. Go away, hippie.

Hey...just discovered this tonight. It may interest no one but, what the heck. Archive.org is a huge and free collection of entertainment.

I found the reference in a very, very long-winded article about the Grateful Dead in the New Yorker (link at Real Clear Politics). Seems that the Dead are the biggest feature at archive.org because they have just over 9,000 recorded concerts available for download or streaming and that's something like seven thousand more than the number two on the most prolific list. They are also the most listened to and most downloaded act at archive.org. Got me curious and I found several different recordings of the first time I attended a Dead concert in Austin, Texas.

So, for what it's worth.

Anyway, thought I would pass this along. Hey, it's free and there is a zillion things there in music, text and video. You could get lost in it.
In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.
