Bill Maher Banned from HuffPo for disgusting Palin comment

This one is a shocker. It turns out that comedian Bill Maher, one of Arianna Huffington’s best friends, has violated HuffPo’s new policy banning from its front page those who engage in ”false ad hominem attack” even outside of HuffPo. Maher called Sarah Palin a “dumb tw*t” on his HBO show recently. That’s definitely ad hominem. But was it “false”–a convenient extra word that HuffPo belatedly added to their policy (thereby setting themselves up as low-cost libel cops for the world)? Unfortunately for Maher, one person who seems very likely to think it false is Huffington, who has consistently–starting from the first word of Palin’s VP selection in 2008– warned Democrats not to underestimate her. Huffington even quoted approvingly from a Michelle Cottle article praising Palin’s “brilliant success” and suggesting that she is a “P.R. genius.” Doesn’t sound “dumb” to me.

It will be sad to see Maher go. He can be very funny.
I Beg to differ, Kaus

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

I think the text should have been quoted, IDP.

Otherwise, it looks like you're saying that Maher can be very funny.

Well, I wouldn't rule it out. Have you ever seen him tumble down a flight of stairs before?

Good point. I don't think evil is funny.

But of course, being the husband of a prominent public figure he would never do that. And that's exactly the sort of restraint that little pissants like Bill Maher take advantage of. Anthony Weiner is another of this ilk, frail little smarmy turds who enjoy using their mouths to write checks their bodies couldn't cash in a million years.

It's one reason I think we should bring back dueling. Men like Andrew Jackson and Preston Brooks I understand.

Yeah ... After beating the crap out of Charles Sumner , Brooks received a slew of canes as gifts , one of which was inscribed " Beat him again !"

Now there's an idea.  Send canes to Michelle Bachmann and Allen West.

Somebody should send Allen West a gold Beretta M9 engraved with "The Interrogator".

Well apparently PuffHo has higher (lower?) standards than "NOW".....and that is quite telling.

Maher is a wuss who likes to be a bully, and the best way to hurt this little bastard is to ridicule and marginalize him.

But, if he came across my path he might wake up on the ground wondering why his face hurts...seeing several bloody teeth laying on the sidewalk may offer a first clue...

Kirsten Powers was on Greta last night and the two of them drove that point home and then some. Both of them are libs, but they both try really hard to have a bit of integrity and intellectual honesty.

What's the difference between the Left in this country and how they treat women and the MB's raping reporters in Egypt?

Not much, and the differences are likely to narrow the more time goes on!
