Courageous Pakistani Actress Takes on Mufti

If this video goes viral in Pakistan, things could get interesting.

How many times in the years since 911 here in the USA have we who are not Muslim cried out for "good" Muslims to decry the haters? And how many have we seen? And the excuse is always given "Well, there's pressure within the community and people are afraid of speaking out." Well, look at this amazing woman--Veena Malik. She is so brave and forthright and honest and sincere and she speaks truth to power so eloquently and with such passion! WOW! Not only Pakistanis and Indians should learn from her--American "good" Muslims should learn from and emulate her too. We need millions of Veena Maliks all over the Islamic world and the West, speaking truth with passion and sincerity, calling for the shaming of the hypocrites, corrupt opportunists, and murderers and thieves who claim to speak in the name of God.

Veena Malik--before today I didn't know you were alive. From now forward, your courage will live forever in my heart and mind, and should in the hearts and minds of millions more.

And...

Pakistani Actress Defies Mullah Accusing Her of Immoral Behavior on an Indian Reality TV Show
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

She's a very beautiful woman too. Perhaps she'll start a grassfire in Pah-kee-stahn, as Hussein calls it.

I'm sure the mullah dude is quite comfortable in his position, in his surroundings. If I had the opportunity I would love to relate to him what a friggin frothin fool he appears to me.

I fully expected him to jump up and start flinging poo (do they use their left hand or right for flinging?). He is exactly like the muzzies (can I say that word?) I have encountered.

This planet would be infinitely better off without them.

It's abundantly clear that there is mass psychosis in that part of the world. Any man who cannot bear to see the female form has something prima facie wrong with him. I've long held the position that Islam is not a religion that makes people into lunatics, rather it's the sort of religion that lunatics would create. Whatever pre-Islamic belief systems existed in that part of the world, I'd bet you would find the same sort of barking-at-the-moon insanity.

I hope this woman has good security, because somebody is going to try and throw acid in her face.

She is absolutely in the wrong country to be making a stand like this, which makes it all the more powerful. I suppose it's better she's in Pakistan than Iran or Afghanistan, but still, under Sharia she has committed a stoning offense for sure even before the tirade against the cleric, and she seems unafraid.

God protect her. Let her continue to speak.

What's a "Mufti"?

Wiki: A Mufti is a Sunni Islamic scholar who is an interpreter or expounder of Islamic law (Sharia). In religious administrative terms, a mufti is roughly equivalent to a deacon to a Sunni population. A muftiat or diyanet is a council of muftis.

Soooo, the Mufti gets to interpret what part of sharia this actress has violated??
The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living
are outnumbered by those who vote for a living.

She violated the part where she forced him to look at her.

That Mufti in the dingy hat...I'd have no problem sending him off to see Allah!

She violated the part where she forced him to look at her.

Again and again and again............ She is very pleasant to look at. ;D

I kept waiting for the Mufti to announce the stoning would start soon. Heaven protect that brave young ladie.
