A question to the leftist trash out there.

Quote
The plan also envisages an end to cheap holiday flights from Britain to southern Europe with a target that over 50 per cent of all journeys above 186 miles should be by rail.

Who is that 50% to be?  The "rich?"  Or the typical dumbass leftist voter?

Who in the hell takes a train to go 186 miles??? You hop in the car and you're there in 2 1/2 hours.

Driving to the train station, parking, waiting (security & buffer time) embarking, waiting for everyone else to embark, traveling, any stops along the way, disembarking, finding destination transportation... that sequence of events will take an entire day. That means driving to Mum's for a three day weekend will involve two full days of travel and one day at Mum's, when it could be three days at Mum's. That means a week's vacation at the nearby oceanside will instead be 5 days, with two days of travel that simply don't need to be.

And you're exactly right MNHawk. The elitists conceiving of these policies have no intention of letting it affect their lives.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."
