I don't get the "crazy eyes" thing.  She just appears passionate to me.  And pissed.

I showed her to another forum and it was like I dropped Napalm over the thing.  Hippies  ::) .  I admire her passion even if I have to fact check a few things.

I don't know what  you need to fact check. In my experience Ann's facts are correct. Your mileage may vary with the conclusions she draws from them.

No one wants to hear what she has to say.  They might have to do something.

Fair enough.  her message is strong, I just like to know my facts independently.  Enables me to argue the point with anyone.

Her economic, political, and social observations are on the money. Her theological interpretations can drift into bizarre territory.

I just watched more of her.  Right here.

She tells me to stop being nice, and I wonder if I am being to nice to my peers, to those who call for equality and fairness.  I've always maintained that they are entitled to their opinion and at most I ignore them if they're stupid.  She gets my blood flowing.

She is a fireball, and damned passionate. I'll give her that. I wish she would rub off on more citizens, but I agree, Mr. Infinito, the theology can be a turn-off to most. Though I'm not inclined to believe that aspect, I love that it gives her teh strength to spit fire.
I agree, PK, about checking up on facts, and spot-checked when I first started reading her, but like others, I've placed enough trust in her after confirming what I felt was enough to get a feel for her stuff, (sounds dirty!) but now I take her at her word. I understand that allows for manipulation by some folks, but now I feel like she needs to be shown lacking by others.

Let's call Ann what she is: a fire-breathing zealot. This is a time in the history of Western civilization when moderation will not suffice, and she has that torch in her fist.

With genuine zeal comes disregard for whether people are offended by it. Zeal is meant to divide people into those who are inclined to receive the message and those who are not.

With genuine zeal also comes strong opinion, and with strong opinion, equally strong disagreement.

I find Ann's zeal regarding traditional values and constitutional principles to be just right. I receive that message, and am grateful for it.

Her stance on the Satanic nature of all churches but the Catholic Church, I find ridiculous; laughable; offensive; dead wrong. That is a zealous message that I am not inclined to receive, and Ann Barnhardt doesn't give a sh*t whether I do or not.

The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Right. I know she wouldn't GAS that I find her proclamations on non-Catholic Christianity offputting. Of course, I don't GAS that she doesn't GAS. She is on the right side of what's going on all around us and that's enough for me.

These times call for passion, the points I agree with her on far outweigh those I might find immaterial.

I make this argument almost every time when talking about why the republicans lost the last election;

A gay person who hates the latino immigration problem and stymies proposed solution and the latino who despises fags will still vote for the dems, they overlook the the plank in the dem platform they don't agree with cause they are getting what they want most, while a conservative who likes the many planks in the repub platform but doesn't like the religion of the candidate will not vote for the repub candidate.

Which is why we could get along with her. Yes, she passionately believes we are going to hell, and she passionately believes that you have the right to make that decision without her "saving" you.

Honestly, I don't think I would "get along" with someone who would look me in the eye with zeal and yell at me that I am going to hell because I am not Catholic, and that my faith is Satanic.

I take Ann for who and what she is. If I knew her, I would likely hate her. "In your face and to hell with you" is a fine attitude for youtube videos, and has its place - and it's a place I appreciate and find valuable in these troubled days. The nation needs an unfiltered and unvarnished voice to shake those who would listen. But I think if I knew her, I'd be telling her to f**k off within the first 5 minutes - and she'd be just fine with that, secure in her knowledge that I am a heretic.

Reading Denninger's Leverage.  In chapter 2 there is a graph that reminds me an aweful lot of her explaination of leverage. . .  ;)
