State of the Union
« on: February 13, 2013, 12:17:35 AM »

Marco Rubio, Republican darling:

“Despite our differences, I know that both Republicans and Democrats love America."

“If Congress refuses to obey its own rules, if Congress refuses to pass a budget,
if Congress refuses to read the bills, then I say:
Sweep the place clean. Limit their terms and send them home!”

Get it all, here.

Did you catch his version in Spanish, CO?

I couldn't bring myself to watch any of it. I'm so disheartened.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

I don't understand Spanish, therefore, I don't get the joke.  But thanks anyway.  ::saywhat::

Didn't watch any of it and I feel swell about my choice!

I still like Levin's take.   ;)

I am tired of hearing lies that the MFM will report as truth.  I also didn't watch the dog and pony show.

Look at how that hag is looking at the Nuge.  "Cracka ass motherf**ker"

Otherwise, I'm just completely sick of all the pomp and pageantry surrounding all things government. It has become a new sort of royalty. And to what aim? We have all this pageantry and self-congratulation for what, the great job they're all doing? If a single one of them were actually serious about serving the public trust, they would have been too ashamed to attend such a thing.

This whole State of the (Soviet) Union thing is such a sham. Early presidents merely apprised Congress on important things by official letter. It became a "show" as government moved from public servants to public overlords. Everything is now about conspicuous showmanship, we're the nobles and you're the serfs.

I can't help but think of the band playing as the Titanic takes on ever more water.

I did not watch...I did not care to watch. I've got better things to do than listen to the same ole rot.

These commenters over at PJ Media pretty much summarize where most of us are at with all this crap.

I'd say that is more than correct. I rarely watch Fox after this last election. Not that I don't lean towards the right, but because i don't care to hear the message anymore. If my conservative values make me a dinosaur, so be it.

Rubio isn't the answer. I actually feel some sorrow for him.....he is asked to lead a party because he is hispanic or cuban or whatever the hell he is......not for any value he may or may not exhibit. If rubio or obama were white dudes, they wouldn't draw a second stare.

Snore. Somebody wake me up when the words rumble, revolution or secession are mentioned.

Amen.  I have better things to do, like prepare for myself and my kin, when something real happens then I'll be interested.

Sad but true.  Hopefully the Obama hits the fan before that happens.
