I grabbed the 45 today.
Told him to call me as soon as he gets a 9mm Hi Point

They had a real nice little Ruger 380
Thought a little bit about it but passed today

I have to work this into the system.
Wife won't approve
*sigh* I need a better carry gun and that's the one I want.  But without paper.

I'm thinking about selling my wife's Ruger 380. I bought one for both of us 4 years ago and she doesn't want hers. I don't know why. She would rather have a .357. I'm trying to find the perfect one for her. No luck yet. I also don't want  to spend an arm and a leg for it.
I know you get what you pay for. However that 380 is really light weight and you can manhadle it if you want. My wife wants ot be dainty with the 380. I keep telling her to treat it like the Colt 1911 we used to shoot. I love the 380 it is light and easy to conceal. My wife only put 6 rounds through hers. Since then we have only shot mine.

I'd get both, a 40 and a 45.

If I could find someplace they still have them......ammo where I am is non-existent.

If you don't have any luck finding the Ruger .380, look for a Bersa Thunder and see how that feels. I consider it one of the very best values out there, and it's a nice shooter with a size and feel much like a Walther PPK. I'm pretty sure Libertas has also mentioned having one and shares this opinion.

This is great feedback
Thanks

BTW, I ordered the 18" barrel from Cabelas for the Mossberg.
Gun shop convinced me that it was a great deal

Yes, I have one, my father, my BIL.  A lot of times you let a gal shoot it, they'll want one too.  It is very controllable and super easy to maintain.  Some with weaker fingers like my father (age/arthritis) can find loading the magazines a bit tough, but all you need to do in that case is get a Baby Uplula and problem solved.  For warmer weather carry I like just stuffing it in a little Uncle Mikes and tuck it my pants in a roughly crossdraw position.  I know they had been going like hotcakes so might be a bit of a challenge to find in some parts.

They are great little pistols! And +1 on the Uplula mag loader. I recommend them highly. What is your load of choice in the Bersa? Mine is stuffed with Hornady Critical Defense. I also use Speer Gold Dot at times.

Yes, Hornady CD.  I have some TAP & Custom too and some Speer GD, but CD is in the mags right now.  I can nail a target pretty fast & quick with that bugger, its just a solid platform.

I went shooting today with the intent of chronographing some 9mm Speer Gold Dot 115 grain +P+ that I recently acquired. It has an advertised velocity of 1350 fps, which is nudging close to 357 SIG territory. I did shoot it, and it's definitely a hot 9mm, but no chrono or serious target work was in the cards. It's been 15 degrees all day and very blustery. I fulfilled today's profanity quota on the wind constantly ripping targets down and knocking over stuff.

But it was not a total loss. I at least confirmed that my recently repaired Glock 17 is functioning normal, and I fired off a 30 round mag from my AK-74 in a toast to Senator Feinswine.

I got tired of constantly going over my limit so I recently upgraded to the unlimited profanity plan  ::laughonfloor::

Last weds I took the wife shooting and we burned through 350 rounds of 9mm(sig) that a friend was kind enough to give me(he reloads and is sitting on approx 10k rounds in that alone). Next weds she goes for her class and then getsa her permit. The gub she like because of the size of the grip is a Bersa Thunder the caliber is up for grabs but come hell or high water she's getting a 380.

I got lucky and managed to get my .40 ammo count up to 1250 rounds,I still have 250 rounds in 9mm. From what's being said at the grouchies ammo seems to be loosening up little by little, and one guy found .223 for .60 cents a round at walmart,it's been as high as 1.70 a round.

I have .40 in my kit, simply b/c, the way my house is laid out, I have to worry about over-penetration 'cuz the kids would likely be down-range under some circumstances.
.40s&w is capable, with a proper load, but .45acp will always get the job done the first time.

.22lr, in a semi-auto pistol, is a fine choice. Small recoil allows for multiple follow-up shots in a small area, like in the trachea or eye socket in rapid succession, and that will stop any body.

I got the 45 version as an afterthought on a trade.  The effing thing refuses to misfire, jam, or malfunction.  I whipped up a wire stock ( we can in Canada) and it shoots rather consistently to point of aim...  now personally I think its an ugly thing, but it works well, and its .45, my go to caliber..  I bought a couple of spare mags and drag the thing out about 3- 4 times a year for fun shooting..  functional, consistent, accurate, can't ask for more..
