Try that at the next family gathering and lemme know how it works out, K John?

LOL. Once when I was a teenager I tried to do the "quickly pull the tablecloth out from underneath the table setting" trick. Lucky for me the floor was carpeted.

The kind of class seen on Carson is dead in entertainment.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

I'm seeing double!   ::speechless::

 ;D

Carson show was a blast, but most entertainers of that era even if they were a lib didn't shove it in your face, and there was more openess and honesty in the ribbing before the pc/diversity/multi-culti asshattery was allowed to take hold!  And it was one of the few shows that crossed generations, me and my siblings and friends and all our parents would watch.

These pretenders with shows today?  Meh!

Johnny Carson Show #3

No canned laughter......I remember Carson. My favorite is something still debated today, which may or may not have occured.....the famous Zsa Zsa Gabor (supposed) incident, where she (supposed) brought a cat with her and asked carson if he would like to pet her *ussy. And he (supposed) to have said if you move that damn cat.

I don't know if really happened, but it strikes me as something carson would do.

The way I heard it growing up, it was Raquel Welch.

It's one of those stories which takes on a life. I have friends who swear thay watched that episode, but I don't think Carson was on the boob tube then.

I remember hearing of the story where Johnny had Arnold Palmer's wife on.
As the story supposedly goes, Johnny asked her if, before Arnie left for a tournament, if she rubbed his balls and kissed his putter for good luck.

As I heard it, that didn't go over real well

  I saw that show at the time and what she answered was before a tournament I kiss his balls for luck and he(Johnny)said was "that should make his putter rise.

  Palmer was pissed at him.
