« on: March 14, 2013, 07:35:33 AM »
What a complete joke.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/proposed-dem-budget-increases-spending-62-over-next-decade_707579.html

But stooges in the MFM will trumpet this as bold courageous leadership and the Ryan plan as right-wing extremist austerity that is DOA and blah blah blah, yadda fricken yadda...

So sick of this game!

Defund everything, pass no budget, tell the Dem's to  ::cussing:: off!

Oh wait, we're talking about "gotta-do-something/feckless/spineless/ankle-grabbing Pubbies!

Never mind!   ::gaah::

I ran out the numbers using a 2% growth rate (still with no recessions.)  I got deficits of $2 trillion plus in the out years and a debt of $33 trillion by 2023.

Have a nice day.

And in the meantime, we have a President who understands that the American people are so f***ing stupid, he can proclaim on national TV that there is no debt crisis, and that he isn't concerned about balancing the budget, and there will be no outcry but from the "extremist fringe" who outrageously demand he live in the real world.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Libertas, I agree with your proposed action and the realization as to why we can't expect any such thing.
I would sell my soul to buy a spine for the r's, so that my kids wouldn't grow up in such a broken country.

Indeed. There's no such thing as a recession, a depression, or a debt crisis as long as you're still getting your government check. There's no such thing as high taxes either, not when it's somebody else paying them.

That's the state of things in this country. The first revolution was about taxation without representation. The second one will be about representation without taxation.

Yeah, it's one of those "If "If's" and "But's" were "Candy" & "Nuts", everyday would be Christmas" things...

When the language has been co-opted by statists and a non-cut is demonized as a draconian cut, you've lost the game.

When people are not held accountable for their actions (many bordering on treason), you've lost the game.

When a plan that is flawed in it's growth assumptions (as MNHawk points out) and this is pointed to as severe austerity that cannot be allowed to stand, you've lost the game.

When people are in denial about the governments spending addiction, you've lost the game.

When the Fed/Treas Neo-Keynesian asshats can print currency non-stop and with the help of fellow statists game the system and people believe there is no inflation and that monetization is fricken swell and the good times can roll forever, you've lost the game.

I know I am belaboring a theme here, but too few (if any) outside our circle know or care.

This game is over.  A new game is about to begin.

The new game may not smell good, sound good or look good, but it cannot be postponed, it cannot be avoided, it cannot be escaped.
