  • Hippies smell bad. Go away, hippie.
Dead.

I mostly agreed with his movie reviews but his politics were deranged and hateful.

That's all I have to say.
In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

Well, Roger Ebert died. I'm sorry about that. Except he didn't just critique movies, he spent his later years impugning conservatives in general and Republicans in particular. So, just because the old bastard had a t.v. show, and usually preached to the Leftist-Progressive crowds who watched PBS(hit), he was much adored. Except for me. I could not stand the man. Now if he just shut his yap and stuck to what he knew, criticizing movies, and stayed out of much that he didn't know - conservative politics, I might just be able to shed a tear for the old coot.

But since he didn't, eff him.

Heh.  Funny thing happen to comments sometimes when topics merged, Confucius say.

I meant it was like only yesterday when he announced he was going to get treatment again.

Always like Siskel better. Mostly because he wasn't a bloated fat-faced pussy.

Rest, Leftist.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Yeah when Siskel died several years ago, I was just surprised it was him rather than Ebert. At the time Ebert was really fat and looked like the far better candidate to have croaked.

Never paid any attention to him anyway so now that he is gone I can't miss a damn thing, I count myself lucky.
