Rosie O'Donnell's son wants to join the military
« on: April 02, 2011, 06:48:34 PM »
Mommy and her friend rationalize it away. Got news for you Rosie. Your 15 year old boy wants to serve his country, shoot people, and blow sh*t up. Deal.

Transcript mine.

[blockquote]O'Donnell: "Here I am, this peace-loving, anti-war mom, who has spent all my time going, "let's get sensible gun laws, and let's not go to war, there are other ways," and this is what - since he's been a little baby - his interest is... I thought it would wane as he got older? It's not waning... I try to show him documentaries about the horrors of war... and it doesn't change that innate thing. That's where his interest lies."

Interviewer: "Well that's his path, and he can go down that path. I think, ya know, some of the things about the military are some of the most beautiful things about community and camaraderie and standing up for a friend and giving your life for a friend... Perhaps your child will be one of the ones who rethinks the military, and it becomes a service organization. There's nothing wrong with the military in terms of a police force protecting us, ya know? I think we all have a right to live in a somewhat reasonably safe societal structure. Um... But if we would - again, I don't wanna be "60s" about this, but, use it as a service force - drop love, and not bombs, and see the power of that."

O'Donnell: "Right."

Interviewer: "Maybe your son can be one..."

O'Donnell: "Yeah, it's all the way that you think about it, you're totally right."[/blockquote]

No Rosie. He's totally 100% f**king wrong.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

After reading the transcript, I'm afraid to watch the video.  I can't afford to lose any more IQ points.
We are so far past and beyond the “long train of abuses and usurpations” that the Colonists and Founders experienced and which necessitated the Revolutionary War that they aren’t even visible in the rear-view mirror.

Maybe the kid wants to experience some semblance of the male role model and instruction that was deliberately denied him by his "mothers".

Despite her trying to train it out of him, the boy's a boy and will grow up to be a man.

So much for "gender is a societal construct".

Is this the oldest kid? The same one who was complaining a while back about his mommy acting like a jackass, and she told him, "Put it in your autobiography some day!" or something to that effect?

If he turns out to be normal it will obviously not be Rosie responsible for it!

He is being raised in a liberal household by two lesbians.

He is rebelling against his mother and at the same time filling a void in his life, a void of honor and integrity that he may find in the armed services. May he find what he needs.
In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

I hope so.

And perhaps too he'll discover that the world his two mommies constructed for themselves and their kids was to rationalize their deviant behavior.
