If you've got nothing to hide what's the big deal?  Bend over and let them dig through your colon or else the terrorists win.

Sorry, I shot the guy, badge looked fake and I didn't know it was legal SOP for police to sexually assault citizens.

Alcoholic Beverage Control agents clad in plainclothes approached her, ...one of the agents jumped on the hood of her car. ...one drew a gun. Unsure of who they were, Daly tried to flee the darkened parking lot.

There was a similar case in Fayetteville, NC where an ABC agent roid-raged on a guy with a can of Arizona Iced Tea.

You know, I used to be one of those reluctant to criticize the police, always ready to give a benefit of the doubt, but not any more. I think their overall "posture" vis-a-vis the public has changed markedly just in the past 10-15 years, and my perception of them now is that a very substantial number are just thugs with a uniform.

When the incidence of the ridiculous begins to become routine one cannot but wonder if everything is FUBAR.  Look to ones self, assuming nobody else is on your side is the only prudent posture you can take.

Last week The Washington Post reported that Sal Culosi's parents have reached a $2 million settlement with Fairfax County, Virginia, police Detective Deval Bullock, who shot and killed the 38-year-old optometrist during a January 2006 SWAT raid on his home. The unusual settlement reflects the outrageous facts of this case, in which an unarmed man suspected of nothing more than betting on sports was recklessly gunned down during an unnecessarily violent operation.
...
...
Bullock, who had had been on duty since 4 a.m. and hadn't slept in 17 hours, killed him. Culosi's last words: "Dude, what are you doing?"

In the months that followed, Baucum continued his investigation, badgering Culosi's grieving friends and relatives after pulling their names and numbers from the cell phone he was carrying and a computer taken from his home the night he was killed. Steve Gulley, Culosi's brother-in-law, told The Washington Post the following April that Baucum called him and menacingly asked, "How much are you into Sal for?" Scott Lunceford, a lifelong friend of Culosi's, told the Post Baucum called him and accused him of being a gambler. The calls, Gulley told the paper, smacked of intimidation aimed at discouraging a lawsuit."
