Armed agents raid animal shelter for baby deer
« on: August 01, 2013, 05:48:45 PM »
"It was like a SWAT team," shelter employee Ray Schulze said.

Quote
... Agents -- nine DNR agents and four deputy sheriffs, and they were all armed to the teeth -- told staff they came to seize the deer because Wisconsin law forbids the possession of wildlife.

... It was to go to a wildlife reserve in Illinois that allows the rehabilitation of deer. Schulze said agents corralled workers near the picnic area and then set out in search of the fawn.

"I was thinking in my mind they were going to take the deer and take it to a wildlife shelter, and here they come carrying the baby deer over their shoulder. She was in a body bag," Schulze said. "I said, 'Why did you do that?' He said, 'That's our policy,' and I said, 'That's one hell of a policy.'"

Thou shalt not poach the King's deer.
"Under certain circumstances, profanity provides a relief denied even to prayer." - Mark Twain

"Let us assume for the moment everything you say about me is true. That just makes your problem bigger, doesn't it?"

Thou shalt rise up in great numbers and slay the wicked King and his minions...and people will enjoy the sustenance of the land.

How much you want to bet our little forest rangers + 4 Barney Fife's high 5'd themselves at the end, comparing themselves to Seal Team Six?

I cannot say how much this story disturbs me on so many levels. At one blog, the trolls couldn't understand why the conservative law and order types were so upset about the state protecting the public against animal borne disease. No, idiots, it was the unnecessary use of the power of the State in a matter so inconsequential as to become farcical.

My two cents: Sheesh, trolls. Don’t ya think a freakin DNR summer intern armed only with an order of surrender could have pulled this off during his/her lunch hour?
The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living
are outnumbered by those who vote for a living.

Every little government minion wants their Waco moment...the yearning to go full-thug on the people is becoming more commonplace.

But, just accept it, right?  After all, what are ya gonna do about it anyway?

people are so willing to accept things now

Yesterday, I overheard a store clerk say "if I allow it for that customer then I'd have to do it for all the others then what's the point of the rule?"

I wanted to shout Yes, what IS the point of the rule???

It's to have a rule.  Why not allow it for every customer, lady?! What difference would it make?

I'm so sick of everyone making rules and trying to protect me.  Leave me alone!

Is Wisconsin going to patrol their borders to make sure no errant, disease bearing deer cross over from another state?

Your papers, Mr. Deer.
