Yeah. I see nothing about the rape. Nothing about forced sexual intercourse.

So did it not happen as reported, or is there a whitewashing going on to rid the 'Slims of the shame of touching a woman?

Pandora:
Treasured illusions about Muslim civility are too important to put at risk.

I'd have put it as "civility", but this author lays it out pretty well.

Libertas:
Ooh, good article Pan!

I like these gems -

"Treasured illusions about Muslim civility are too important to put at risk."

&

"Tongue tied feminists are co-conspirators with the "animals" of Tahrir Square."

&

'The near universal refusal of the professional left, the academy, and several American administrations to recognize or confront the golems of Islamic and Egyptian culture are part of the back story too.  Many religious or cultural practices enable the abuse of women in Egypt and other Arab communities. These include, but are not limited to: vindictive fatwas, child marriage, honor killings, genital mutilation, amputations, stoning, purdah (burkas and hijabs), polygamy, consanguinity, slavery, and death penalties for adultery. Christina Lamb's Afghan protégé characterized women under Islamic law as "insects in the dust." '

&

"The most distressing fallout of the Lara Logan saga lies ahead. The Obama/Clinton team is unlikely to change the party line about the Arab League; full speed ahead with revolution, consequences be damned."

Pulls no punches, damn good article!

Glock32:
Mark Steyn has an article about this: http://www.steynonline.com/content/view/3749/28

--- Quote ---These facts are too cold and plain to be expressed in a "multicultural" society which has told itself that, thanks to the joys of diversity, a nice gay couple and a polygamous Muslim with three wives in identical burkas can live side by side at 27 and 29 Elm Street.

--- Quote ---But Egypt is different! It's the Facebook Revolution! Don't worry about the Muslim Brotherhood, it's all about "social media" - and, if some of the lads get a little too social with the media, don't let that get in the way of the myths. C'mon, what part of "Nothing to see here" don't you understand?

For the less deluded, many questions remain: How exactly did Miss Logan "become separated" from her crew? How can even 200 savages perpetrate group sexual assault on a naked blonde western woman in a square filled with hundreds of thousands of "peaceful" "freedom-loving" "democrats"? And, bearing in mind that photograph of poor Lara from moments earlier, let's not overlook the most obvious question of all: How could her bosses at CBS News be so stupid as to believe the we-are-the-world sludge they pour down their viewers' throats?

--- End quote ---

I know we've discussed the extent that her own bad decision (and perhaps no small amount of noble savage naivete) played in what happened to her, but it should still push every button in the deepest reptilian core of Western man. I want to stomp their subhuman guts out while Ride of the Valkyries plays in my head. That's how it makes me feel.

eta - the Imperial March from Star Wars would work too  :)
