This is nothing more than another End of Days cult with a superficial veneer of science and statistics slapped on it. Just like the cult leader, right after his dire predictions fail to materialize, they'll glom onto some new last minute revelation as to why the previous prediction didn't come to pass. From the linked article, one of those goobers is saying "we have 30 to 40 years". Well gee, I thought it was 10 years back when Al Gore issued the same warning (more than 10 years ago). So now it's conveniently 30 to 40?
You know, there was a time when I tried to remain credulous about these claims. My dismissal of the whole thing is not kneejerk anti-intellectualism, as its advocates claim. It fails to pass muster at the most basic levels of scientific inquiry. The most damning thing is the fact that all the various models they base these assertions on have utterly failed in predicting past trends. They are blown out of the water by actual empirical data. At the very least, if they had a shred of intellectual honesty about them, they should admit that the models are completely wrong and unfit for any future predictions. Instead they just keep doubling down on it. Every new revelation about how demonstrably wrong they have been simply causes them to repeat the same thing a few decibels higher. It's argument, elementary school style. It's also further proof that they have become a cult of believers rather than observers and inquirers.
