To prove libel they just gave the defendant the right to prove his allegations are true in a court of law.  What are the two morons going to present?  More lies?!

In other words, his boyfriend's father publicly called him a sodomite, so he sued the man for libel.  But he really was a sodomite, which was illegal at the time.  Oops.
