Romans 1:20 - For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
We've all seen videos of people who for one reason or another, surprise us with a talent that we don't expect them to have. These videos are always moving.
There really is something to the concept of people just being "born with it" - whatever "it" is. I don't think it is a quantifiable quality. I think it must come from God. The notion that biology arbitrarily "selects" some to have innate prodigious talent from the earliest part of their life defies chance. Take the "idiot savant" as a prime example of my point. It's not far off to look at wonder at a blind, otherwise mentally retarded idiot savant beautifully sing and play the piano, and compare him to a small child, gifted with the ability to beautifully and flawlessly sing opera...

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."
- Thomas Jefferson
