I think it silly for people to not take better precautions playing sports with hair flying out all over the place...I'm surprised more of this doesn't happen...

I don't see this lasting much longer.  Sure the hair cape is stupid, but trash taking pride in literally scalping someone else?

Um, no.  Then again, what do I care.  I turned off this crap 10 years ago.

If I was a head coach, the first thing I'd do is mandate a haircut. Two inches max below the back of the helmet. I'd bring a scissors to that team meeting.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

I've always wondered why this doesn't happen more often. That would have to hurt like hell too.  The worst are dreadlocks. Players look like they're smuggling a giant tarantula under their helmet.

The way the running back got up like nothing happened, I'm guessing they were weaves and not real hair.
