Culture Watch - Pro Sports Trash Edition

Because it's needed.  Maybe even a separate section. ;-)

Vikings' Erin Henderson suing over drunk driving arrest last week

Quote
The second-year starter contends police did not have "articulable grounds to make an investigatory stop"

No doubt the field sobriety test included saying "articulable grounds to make an investigatory stop" three times, while standing on one foot and pointing at his nose.

Man up, boy.  Take your punishment like a man, and not a Nancyboy Football League type.

A.J. Jefferson: Former Viking charged with strangling girlfriend

Quote
She awoke to Jefferson yelling at her for ignoring his text messages to her, and he grabbed her around her throat, according to the complaint.

Looks like this particular nancyboy did find someone he could handle.  It certainly wasn't the Packers.

Highly doubtful. Unless the legal definition of not having "articulable grounds to make an investigatory stop" is "muhfukkah diss me bra."
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Maybe they should have an outing on a boat as a team-building exercise.

The Vikings aren't any worse or better than any other team. In fact, it should really be called the National Felons League.

You speak the truth. That's why I haven't watched professional sports in quite a few years.

It's OK, the way they are all headed they'll be sporting tutu's and playing touch...the institution of NBA-like flopping rules and NHL-like interference rules will complete the transition to the era of scripted contests and the last of the manly team sports will be no more...

I have more thoughts on this jackass...

http://houston.cbslocal.com/2014/01/03/chris-kluwe-the-nfl-would-rather-have-felons-and-racists-and-abusers/

...he has ZERO chance of winning any kind of lawsuit, if that is his aim (frankly I think his only aim is to piss in everybody's punchbowl, it is what self-absorbed attention-whores do after all) so unless he is coming out and announcing he is a faggot he has no standing to make a hostile workplace claim.  In the NFL they can fire your ass for any reason they like...they don't even need a reason...as long as it is permitted in the collective bargaining agreement Klueless Kluwe can pound sand.  If on the other hand it can be proven by the Vikings that no such comments were ever made by any of their staff then those singled out by Kluwe (like the special teams coach) have an excellent defamation case they can throw at him!

Players should know not to say anything controversial, period, but like their idolized brethren in the entertainment biz, stupid is as stupid does.

As usual, South Park has a clip relevant for just about any manufactured controversy.  Maybe he's just trying to piss off the entire NFL so players will attack him:

How about if we name this "Culture Watch- Pro Sports Edition"?

It could reach 50 pages in a couple months just on the NFL and NBA alone.

Don't forget to include many in baseball [MLB], NHL [hockey, though not a bad - yet] and college football is sure moving in that direction also.

He's got the money to sue, but not the money to buy a ticket?  Nope, not the issue; he's suing on behalf of the other "poor slobs" that can't buy tickets.  Look -- an altruist.  ::)

Altruist?

Heh, good one!

More like a clown using this as the vehicle to get his mug in the news and pretend he cares about the common man.

It's like a red light flashing - look at this guys money-making business, he's got to be out earning street cred for some purpose!

A real altruist would not target just one enterprise...all major sports are run the same way...wealthy individuals and corporations will always get to the front of the line because they can afford it.  You think owners are willing to take on losses?  How else top pay for these outrageous salaries?  And the league offices want their cut too.

This clown is just an attention-seeking jackass with ulterior motives.  No doubt he has much more in common with those whom he is attacking than those whom he pretends to stand for!
