Not that Europe is exaclty the exemplar of freedom and virtue...but these folks really have been a plaything for the Russians for far too long...at some point they have to create their own identity and be free and independent on their own terms and not be a pawn of any power!

ToddF:
Ironic what started it.  A leftist piece of garbage pretending he's a "right" thinker, just to go left again after winning.

A lesson to those who think any Democrat piece of garbage is anything but.

FT has one of those obnoxious paywalls.

Crap, forgot about that...link from Drudge or someplace and you get it, kinda a one and done then that wall hits!   ::bashing::

As usual you get out of Amerika and the coverage is more widespread...

This sentiment was echoed by a number of protesters who spoke to The Independent. Anatolii, a 43 year-old Kiev resident, said: “Everyone who wants to live in a better Ukraine should be here today. This is about people coming together to achieve one aim – to be free, independent and proud of our country.”

Hang onto that desire and make it a reality.

Meanwhile Vald's puppet keeping a lid on the opposition -

Meanwhile, heavyweight world boxing champion and opposition Presidential candidate Vitalii Klitschko found his plane diverted as he attempted to return to Kiev from a business trip.

A spokesperson for his party said that he had been forced to land in a city several hundred miles from Kiev and the authorities had refused to allow him to leave the plane.

My main problem with this guy and this party is it is basically a populist party out to not ruffle too many feathers but wants to end the corruption and cease being a vassal of Russia.  The latter two are all well and good, but after that the big "uhh, now what?" hits.

Sadly, I am not convinced Ukraine has the right people in place to give it real free and independent freedom...which the people obviously long for.

A few years back I went on a couple of dates with a Ukrainian girl.  She made sure everyone knew the language she spoke is Ukrainian, not Russian. Definitely no love lost for Russia.
