Apparently the Russians suck at hiding their intentions, if the West is saying the buildup continues then one can only conclude the Russians don't give a flying fornication what they see so whatever they do they can be expected to get away with it...

http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/03/26/us-ukraine-crisis-usa-idUSBREA2P22120140326

...which anybody but a blind monkey can see is almost entirely directed at the utter uselessness and paralysis of the Obama Regime when confronted by an aggressive Cold War operator like Vlad the Nation Inhaler.

"The only thing Putin respects is strength ... At this point the Russians are openly laughing at the president," Cruz, R-Texas, told the Washington Examiner.

Cruz added that Putin's aggressiveness was "a direct consequence" of the absence of American leadership in the world.

"The weakness and incoherent foreign policy of the Obama administration -- from President Obama, under Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and under Secretary [John] Kerry -- has undermined our allies and has strengthened our enemies and put Putin in particular in a far stronger position," Cruz declared.

Tit for tat...or is tat for tit...

Whatever...

Rooskies to sanction American businesses operating in Russia

Heh, why am I envisioning two one-legged drunks trying to kick each other in the azz?   ::hysterical::

ETA - Obama the Infantile One - Mr. Obama said Russia needs “to move back those troops and to begin negotiations directly with the Ukrainian government, as well as the international community.”...“And it is true that we reject the notion that there is a sphere of influence along the Russian border that then justifies Russia invading other countries. Certainly they’re going to have influence because of trade and tradition and language and heritage with Ukraine. Everybody acknowledges that. But there’s a difference between that and sending in troops, and because you’re bigger and stronger taking a piece of the country – that is not how international law and international norms are observed in the 21st century.“

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2014/03/obama-calls-on-putin-to-move-troops-from-ukrainian-border-not-21st-century-behavior/

What a pansy!

Hey assclown, why don't you issue a EO against him?!   ::hysterical::

Oh, and I guess 'ol Vlad the Nation Inhaler has more up his sleeve than just securing Gazprom profits and extortioneering for the foreseable future...those 100k troops on the border get to give life and limb for Mother Russia and Vlad's string of Crimean Casinos!

 ::whoohoo::

Now there's something worth killing and dying for!

Interesting read here, of course the ZeroHeads interpret this as just more anti-Putinism...and Putin is their favorite dictator after all.  They'd be tickled to see Vlad the Nation Inhaler continue is acquisition strategy.  Funny, how Peak Oil Fanbots are also in love with a dictator running an oligarchy who's largest interest is petroleum, eh?!

Farage is right...the EU does have "blood on it's hands" over Ukraine.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-03-31/nigel-farage-europe-has-blood-its-hands-over-ukraine

We are seeing how weak the EU really is when it's former policeman (the US) decides to sit one out (not by principled choice backed by principled policies and effectively communicated to EU friends, no, but by incompetence and ignorance...the twin towers of Obama Regime foreign policy!)...and so sad too bad for the Ukrainian people who have to suffer as a result of choosing shytty friends!  (The first shytty friend being Bill Clinton and the agreement that is confirmed to be little better than toilet paper by Team Obama!)

And as far as these BRICS go...you sleep with demons, don't be surprised to wake up in Hell!

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-03-31/why-did-brics-back-russia-crimea

Any US leader with half a brain would see that disengaging from Europe entirely has been made necessary as a result of Team Obama negligence, we will never win back the EU's support, not after spying on them, ignoring them, screwing them over...we can perhaps peel off England from the EU and that might be about it, the rest should be cut loose, because preparing for economic and military warfare with the BRICS is the only challenge to be focused on going forward.  The EU is about to destroy itself and/or be absorbed by Vlad the Nation Inhaler.  These are our cards, they suck, but it is all we have.

Of course if Hitlery or whoever continues this charade then all we can look forward to is destruction and by the time we are done killing ourselves the foreign hoardes may not find any reason to fuss over any part of us...

Ukraine OK's war games with NATO in Ukraine.

http://news.yahoo.com/russian-pm-medvedev-visits-crimea-reports-075219445.html

This should be interesting...I am thinking these games won't be too robust...more symbolic than predictive of any future cooperation...

Yeah.  (Soon to be former) allies in the region probably want something a little more substantial...

Good luck with that.

Vlad trying to provoke a response...even though thatb is what he seeks...I wouldn't mind snaeking into the lairs of a few of these clowns leading this bullshyt and slitting their throats...just to let Vlad know we know what he is up to...

Mailing some hands with Gazprom invoices and a few Rubles clutched in them to the Kremlin would be a nice touch too!  ;)

The Battle of East vs West to intensify...these two stories are obviously linked...

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-04-09/russia-and-china-about-sign-holy-grail-gas-deal

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-04-08/russian-military-spending-soars

Yes, two nations aligning in self-interest while the West dies of rot from within...the latter to lash out in futile retaliation (economic and military) only to discover they a) have no friends, b) have no coordination, c) have God-awful leadership - political, economic and military, and d) will be over-extended, vulnerable and ripe for exploitation.

Our only hope here in America is a Revolution/Civil War to rid ourselves of our dead wood and look to ourselves first...

Oh well, nobody will see it that way though...

We're doomed!

Why do I get the feeling we are going to see something pathetic?

http://weaselzippers.us/182342-general-breedlove-us-troops-may-be-sent-to-eastern-europe/

“Essentially what we are looking at is a package of land, air and maritime measures that would build assurance for our easternmost allies,” Breedlove told the AP.

Yeah, uhh huh...

ETA - More news not detracting from my feeling that Team Obama and Team Europe won't screw the pooch one way or another on this...

The orchestrations of Team Vlad are exploiting the divisions in Ukraine and the anti-Russian forces in Ukraine and their so-called supporters int he West are playing by a set if rules Team Vlad doesn't have to concern himself with all that much...

Team Vlad is clearly winning...for now....

If nothing changes I think in the long run Russia could have problems, and not sure the wooing of the Chi-Com's will be enough to improve their lot in the long run...and there is nothing different now as there was 20 or 40 years ago...China could swallow all of Asia if it wanted to, and that includes Russia.

Vlad better be wary of his new lover!

Russian fighter jets spent 90 minutes buzzing a US destroyer in the Black Sea:

A test of nerves is all, I expect they were hoping some kid on the fire-control panel was going to get itchy or a officer fresh out of the Academy standing watch would panic and issue a fire order...neither was very likely to happen...

But a burst of Sea Whiz off his tail to send the hint that that was close enough would have been nice...but that is more my wishful thinking than reality...

I reckon all out forces are on strict orders not to be the first to engave in any provative behavior.  The only thing we likely did was paint that clown with our targeting radar and have fun making the pilot uncomfortable hearing that "lock" tone...

In other news...

Ukraine asks for UN peacekeepers...but since that woudl be vetoed by the peace-minded Rooskies  (ha!)  that won't go anywhere...

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/15/world/europe/russia-east-ukraine.html?_r=0

So they are still left with the hapless Americans and Euro's...

That is to say they are doomed.

Vlad must have given the order to kill, cause some killin' appears to be going on...

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-04-15/unidentified-fighter-jets-open-fire-kramatorsk-airfield-casualties-reported

??????????? ?????????? 15 04 14

That Airborne news is key, if they are deploy those guys, a full-blown incursion could be iminent!

I can already here Lurch stuttering and Obama blathering about "20th century behavior"...

Poor Ukraine...screwed by friends and foes alike...

They'll never trust anybody ever again...

Her people will either get out or stay and become underground partisans...I see no other fate beyond that or servitude to the Mongrel Rooskies...

One of the things that bugs me most about the Infowars/ZeroHedge/PaulBot apologies for Russia is when they say "this part of Ukraine is ethnically and culturally Russian and they voted for the pro-Russia side".  Well no sh*t Sherlock, when Russia has pursued a multi-generation policy of settling Russians there specifically for the purpose of watering down and ultimately replacing the native Ukrainians, that's what you get.

I guess by that reasoning we might as well concede the southwest to "Aztlan" right?  This is one of the oldest tricks in the book, it's a way to wage war without putting armies in the field.  The English did it to the Irish by settling Scots in northern Ireland.  They saw it as killing two birds with one stone: the Scots were a thorn in their side so hey just resettle them in Ireland where they'll squabble with the Catholic Irish instead.  Win-win for the English.  Those same Scots then later came to the New World in droves and that's most of my ancestry.  We have a long heritage of being ornery and refusing to respect self-proclaimed authority. I can just tell the anger that boils in me is the same anger that has lived for centuries in this Celtic rabble!

But back on topic -- this is just another example of manufactured consent. The Ukrainians never "consented" to being demographically replaced, so excuse me if I fart in the general direction of this "the people in that region are pro-Russian" argument.

Yeah.  Plus, when you have the former regime subjugate the native people for like 74 years or something and lord over them with bureaucrats large and small who are Rooskies...well sure, it's easier to look at the leftovers from 20 years ago as "yours"!

So yeah, I fart on 'em too!

And hey, by that dumb logic nobody has Americans beat, right?  We come from everywhere, so by extension we should annex every nation on earth because, well, we gotta protect all our people, even the ones we haven't brought in yet!

Throw that one on the hardcore IW/ZH/PB crowd and watch their brains melt!

Vlad is insane...one minute he wants to project a strong confident peaceful Russia...the other a weak vulnerable one threatened by a larger stronger more beligerent US/EU alliance....Sweet Jesus, I felt safer when Russia was run by handlers because their leaders were to old and/or drunk to give a shyt!
