The EU leaders do not care about their own citizens. They are destroying their own economies in part to harm Russia a little. Canada could have destroyed the German economy with their stunt.

This is a combination of errors.
1. Rely on wind and solar.
2. Switch from coal to gas.
3. Buy gas on the spot market.
4. Do nothing for weeks while Canada sits on the turbines reducing NS1 flow by 40%.
5. Do nothing when Ukraine shuts down the northern pipeline to spite Donbass, reducing German gas by 1/3.
6. Refuse to open NS2.
7. Fail to build any southern pipelines.
8. Shut down nuclear plants.

They are committing suicide.

AntiWar.com ...   ::hysterical::

Yeah, they are not consistently anti-war...some war-wages are more equalm in their eyes than others...

With that out of the way...

The State Department on Sunday implied that Ukrainian forces are allowed to use US-provided High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) against Russian targets in Crimea, which Russia has controlled since 2014.

When the US first announced it was sending HIMARS to Ukraine, Biden administration officials said they received "assurances" from Ukrainian officials that the rockets won’t be used to target Russian territory.

When asked if the ban on Ukraine using the HIMARS to target Russian territory applies to Crimea, a State Department spokesperson told Antiwar.com, "Crimea is Ukraine."

Factually speaking...it used to be...but AntiWar.com gleefully sheered the response from Moscow...

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who currently serves as the deputy chair of Russia’s security council, warned Sunday that if Ukraine launched attacks on Crimea, it would mean "doomsday" for Ukrainian leadership.
https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/us-signals-ukraine-it-can-use-himars-against-russian-targets-crimea

 ::ohno::

 ::hysterical::

Well, as long as folks place the blame where they think it belongs...the outcome doesn't matter...and folks like AntiWar.com get to feel smug as the planet turns to ash...

 ::laughonfloor::

Isn't it awesome to actually do nothing to stop war but comment on it while it rages?

What a world!

I never heard of a single incident of Russia interfering with Ukr grain exports. It may have happened but I never heard of a single incident. Kiev mined the harbors and some inland waterways. As far as I can tell there is no Russian grain embargo of Ukraine.

I read that whatever agreement is reached includes Turkey inspecting incoming ships to Ukraine for weapons. But for this I can see Russian warships doing this and Kiev refusing.

EU says they will not buy Russian oil past a certain date. Maybe not buy gas past a certain year or buy less gas.

What if Russia takes them at their word? Maybe they sign contracts with other countries based on this?

Then when the EU changes their mind there is no Russian oil or gas?

Maybe Russia says they need to plan long term and only want long term contracts for gas?

Q What did Germany use for heat before wood?
A Natural gas.

If you have to advertise a month in advance...kinda seems propaganda-driven...

https://www.zerohedge.com/military/russia-unveils-large-scale-eastern-military-exercises-signaling-force-strength-unaffected

...as for its scale, we'll see what constitutes "large"...

What I would be concerned about is if this is a distraction to benefit China for a move on Taiwan.

I'm sure the Pentagoonian Woketards will screw the pooch regardless...

Their is some weird Ukr bill, maybe not signed yet, that gives Poles and Ukr people lots of reciprocal rights in the the other's country. Alex of Duran talked about it. Wonders why it exists.

Many Ukr people saying pro Russian or anti govt things in Ikr have disappeared  over the years.
Also, a UK video blogger Graham Phillips, was put on the UK sanctions list for alleged pro Russian views.

Seattle used to look sorta similar (not that many pretty girls!).

The formula was remarkably simple: Take a visually stunning background (The Puget Sound inland waterway, the Olympic mountain range to the west, and the Cascade mountain range to the east) and then add world class architecture provided by the Olmsted Brothers (whose father designed New York's Central Park among other treasures). Then feature all sorts of public events to gather people around and you have scenes like the Moscow video.

That's what I grew up enjoying. There was seemingly no end of things to do.

It's all but gone now. The progs have ruined it - all of it.

You literally couldn't film a similar video in Seattle now without bangers or gangsters or wandering crackheads or homeless bums intruding into the frame. The social scene was on life support when the coof visited itself on us. Our betters choked the life out of every diversionary entertainment. None survives. They still attempt some activities but they are all "look but don't touch" counterfeits that a suffocating "social distancing" restriction that has succeeded in making neurotics of all of us.

I live in a medium city about 30 miles to the south of Seattle. It's a working town so not much on the picturesque or frivolous here. When my parents moved here in the late 1980's it still had the quaint charm of (conservative) SmallTown USA. One could still do modest social events that leaned on good-natured neighborly instincts with an emphasis on informality, blue jeans and a solid work ethic. All that died several years ago when leftists gained control of the Mayor and City Council. They tried to turn us into some sort of Woke circle-jerk. Now it's a lot like the rust-belt - everything in decline and no one gives a damn.

I know that I don't.

The Moscow street videos made me very sad for what was lost in the US.
That is what civilization looks like.
I imagine anti US propaganda over seas consists of clips from the US evening news.
No need to write their own false propaganda when we make our own.

On occasion I would watch amateur travel videos that included street scenes and travel scenes.
Most of those places would not put up with the crap that we put up with.
Lots or stuff from the ADVChiina guys when they lived in China.
There is a NZ guy Indigo Traveller who traveled through Iran. Included a long hitch hiking part.
Parts had local guides. It seemed very civilized.
If he had been a citizen of the US ('the great Satan') he would have needed a govt approved minder.

Very long ago I was waiting for a ferry in Brindisi Italy. It had the feel of America around 1900 with a quaint town square. Some sort of festival was coming up. Old small town America. Then I saw the flags. Hammer and sickle. The local govt was communist party. Totally blew my mind. I could never process that.

Back in the day...Poles were used as civil servants in this area, as it was under the control of the Habsburgs...so Poles had to learn Hungarian and German...and the Poles made the Ukrainians (and whoever else) speak Polish...I know this directly from family history...interesting how things evolve...but suspect this is a bigger advantage for Ukraine than Poland...
