Topic is not material, it all comes from the Menticide playbook...

...and more sign that things are at a stalemate...which given the land held means Ukraine is not winning...

They're imploding...

As for this -

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/12/soldiers-death-final-message-wall-ambushed-russian-fighter/

True, or artful propaganda for the home front?

I mean if true, he/they knew they were left on their own to die holding a piece of dirt...maybe Rus are OK with leaving troops to their fate...seems pretty cold to me...especially since these are not sons of the Great Patriotic War their REMFs are invoking...the REMFs are not even sons of the Great Patriotic War...at best they are vets of Afghanistan and Chechnya and such...I seriously doubt the draftees beat their chests when marching off to the front in full-throated patriotic zeal...

I do not follow short term war news much or alleged war deaths.
I heard there is a study by BBC and some Baltic org MediaZone. They use open source public docs to count Russian war dead.
I heard that their totals closely match the official RU MOD totals, whatever those are.
Some say that the open source info is a lower bound.

I once drove with a Georgian taxi driver. He blew through every red light. "What the f*** are you doing" I asked. "Real men don't stop at red lights" he replied. We came to a green light and inexplicably he stopped and waited. "What are you doing now?" I asked. "Well, what if another real man is coming the other way" he answered.

This is good. A clip from a Russian TV show. Just a detail about one news story. You could do something similar about most US TV news stories.  I think this is about some US backed media org with HQ in Prague.

https://t.me/putingers_cat_chat/171824

In this cut from “The Sleepers 2”, a Russian TV spy series, a strategy behind turning everyday news into information “bombs” is unveiled in detail.

And, as an added bonus, everything is Vladimir Putin’s personal fault, as per usual.

I noticed something in the Ukr war. When the Ukr seem to be panicked over the forecast for the war. The Ukr often attack the civilian residential areas of Donestk City more than usual. Also they try to attack the Kerch Bridge and maybe the Zap nuclear plant.

They are attacking Donetsk City more again recently. It is not a dual use target. I used to watch telegram more. The Ukr soldiers shelling Donetsk City were asked why they did it. They said to drive the subhuman Russians from their sacred land. They knew the targets were civilian. It made sense once you know the Ukr ideology.

Patrick Lancaster is almost thee only English language reporter in Russian controlled Donbass. There is a good reason the MSM will not allow any of their reporters into the area. They might report or talk to people. e.g. MSNBC had some reporter walk around Crimea and talk to people. Kiev put him on their kill list. The information blockade is almost total.

PL talks bout increased attacks on Donetsk City including by long range US Himars. Double taps.

Alexander notes that these new attacks are during a shell shortage
https://youtu.be/Zvdj6-OjB1Y?t=654

Johnny of Cafe Revolution took his place for  while.
https://youtu.be/Zvdj6-OjB1Y?t=750

Note the shelling attacks on Donetsk City come mostly from Adveeka so there was political pressure on Russia to finally stop it.
Here is the videos mentioned above. I have seen such things before. The Ukr like hitting the markets and have them dialed in. Going on since well before the Russian invasion. 9 years. Some of the world news shows this. Not in the western news. They pick through the debris ti ID the shell/rocket type. Even kids know to tell the shells and rockets apart from the sound.

FAFO
Many of the companies pulled out of Russia or shut down operations so Russia seized the companies. Leaving those employees unemployed was not an option. This was a windfall for Russia and many Russian business owners.

I watch lots of video blogs where amateurs walk around stores and report on  missing brands and prices. Also in malls. I find these reports the most believable. Boring now.  How many before and after McDonalds reviews can you watch? I learned that in times of stress Russians stock up on buckwheat.

Kinda related but many countries have a working requirement for patents. If you have a national patent in their country use it or lose it. You cannot sit on it.

I can see where Ukr people might fight on the side of hitler or stalin. Mass murder of civilians is different than killing enemy soldiers.
I do not like the nazi ideology.

I am trying to learn more. I  am not sure how much these western Ukr  people were christian or pagan. I read they tossed 30K jews into a ravine outside Kiev in 3 days. I can chose not to like these people. I am trying to learn more about USSR. I know that each decade was different. 1970s was not 1930s.

I have read 4 books so far. More on order. I am well aware of the evils of Stalin. I was not aware of the good parts of USSR.

Not sure where to post this. Judge NAP has good guests on. Maybe 3 different former ambassadors and 3 ex CIA guys. One, CIA guy used to give Reagan his daily briefing. This brit guy Alistair Crook always has a measured approach.

Here he talks about general stuff. First about the Ukr war then mid east. When Ukr gets panicked they strike civilian residential areas in Russia, recently Russia proper, sometimes using the western high precision weapons. They attacked a hospital on new years eve and also a popular new years even gathering spot in Belgorod. Putin is always under pressure to do the same. He used his new years eve talk to refuse to retaliate in kind. Said he could attack mums with strollers in Kiev but would not.

It is not official RU policy to attack purely civilian areas. I have heard Kiev troops say that IS their policy, to drive out the ethnic Russians.

The lack of MSM western reporters in Russia controlled areas is striking to me. They are allowed by RU, but not the western MSM. In Gaza at least there are some video reporters who report. One US ex pat has been doing ride along with DPR troops for many years.

One problem with negotiations is the history. The officials from 3 of the 4 participants in Minsk 1 and 2 have all said it was a ruse to give Ukraine time to arm up. Then there was the tentative agreement in Mar 2022 that the west convinced Kiev to walk away from in Istanbul. I recall some Israel diplomat was one source.  People compare it to Lucy and Charlie Brown with the football. Putin got to play Charlie Brown. There was also some Dec 2021 request for some meeting for agreements by Russia that US turned down.

Maybe western actions were right or wrong but they were done and Putin would look foolish to fall for such moves again.

IMO RU will not give up any land taken. In part because of the rather bloodthirsty threats from Kiev against the "collaborators" living there. US gen Ben Hodges called for Kiev to kill or drive off every Russian from Crimea. Good luck with that.

On occasion I hear people saying Russia should just leave all of Ukraine. That will never happen for many reasons. One reason is what Kiev has planned for the so called "collaborators."  That has already happened in the couple areas where Russia left in a hurry in fall of 2022. Kiev really hates school teachers teaching in Russian controller areas.

You have russian military people saying they cant imagine coexisting with Ukrainians and that they will need to re-educate them if they (russians) win.

This is projection. For proof, readers should check out Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council 12-step strategy for the de-occupation of Crimea.

https://english.nv.ua/nation/the-12-steps-to-de-occupy-crimea-ukraine-s-security-council-50315002.html

If they retake Crimea, Ukraine plans to expel Russian citizens who settled there after 2014.

The Russian citizens who illegally came to reside on the Crimean Peninsula after February 2014 will have to immediately leave the Ukrainian territory within a period established by law.

Anyone who bought a home after 2014 will lose it. Those property transactions will be voided and the property seized by the state. Unless they consider you a citizen of Ukraine. Do you think it's likely that members of Crimea's Russian ethnic majority will be considered citizens of Ukraine in this situation?

Any deeds executed outside of Ukrainian legislation after February 2014, including those related to real estate, are considered null and void. Ownership of property is reserved for citizens of Ukraine. The property appropriated or nationalized by occupiers will be returned to the owners.

https://www.ukrainianworldcongress.org/crimea-de-occupation-in-12-steps-by-security-defense-council-secretary/

All public employees will be tried to determine if they are criminally liable for "assisting the occupation". They seem to see all public employees as "Russian collaborators". Their examples include judges and civil servants. Imagine if you were in your 40's working in one of those roles when Crimea changed hands in 2014. You would never anticipate Ukraine retaking the peninsula someday. You have a family to support and so you continue going to work and living your life. You're of Russian heritage and there would be zero motivation for you to relocate to an area of Ukraine that is hostile to you. So, you stay in your job as a judge or a pencil-pusher in the tax bureau or the education ministry, or a member of the public works department. For that, now your life will be destroyed. You might end up in prison - and for what? Even if you don't, you're now in your 50's, too old to easily get a job elsewhere, especially in a hostile Ukraine, and you've just lost your job and your pension, and maybe even your home.

Civil servants, judges, prosecutors, law enforcement, and others employed by the Ukrainian state before occupation and who worked for Russian occupation structures will wait until a Ukrainian court determines their criminal liability. Even if they are not held criminally responsible, they could be deprived of their state pensions and be permanently banned from working for the Ukrainian state.

https://english.nv.ua/nation/the-12-ste ... 15002.html

Ukraine sure likes stripping people of their pensions. They did that to vulnerable old people in the Donbass, too.

Members of the media will also be tried to determine if they are collaborators who are guilty of treason for assisting the Russian occupation.

Propagandists — journalists, media professionals ... will be legally deprived of their liberty, titles, pensions, property, honors, and respect by a court of law.
https://english.nv.ua/nation/the-12-steps-to-de-occupy-crimea-ukraine-s-security-council-50315002.html

Anyone felt to be too "supportive" of the Russians may lose their right to vote. What constitutes being "supportive"?

In addition to prosecuting perpetrators for collaboration and high treason, a lustration mechanism is under development that will determine the level of responsibility and degree of involvement of Crimean residents in supporting occupation administration activities. Sanctions could include the right to participate in elections – to vote and to be elected.

https://english.nv.ua/nation/the-12-steps-to-de-occupy-crimea-ukraine-s-security-council-50315002.html

They're actually even planning to force Russian "supporters" into labor gangs. You think I'm kidding?

A comprehensive detoxification program will be implemented to neutralize the effects of years of Russian propaganda on the collective consciousness of the peninsula's population. Using Germany’s experience of denazification in the 1940s, groups of active supporters of Russian occupation will be used in public works to rebuild destroyed Ukrainian cities and to exhume and rebury victims of Russian aggression (for those found guilty of equivalent crimes by a court).

https://english.nv.ua/nation/the-12-steps-to-de-occupy-crimea-ukraine-s-security-council-50315002.html

I don't see any mention of payment, and - given the general tone of this document - I don't think it's unreasonable to speculate that is because payment is not planned.

Can you be forced out of your job to serve on one of these labor gangs for little or no pay? If you're supporting kids, what happens to them?

I'm guessing that "active supporters of Russian occupation" will likely be mostly a euphemism for any ethnic Russian that we couldn't immediately force out, plus anyone else we don't like.

More and more, I get the impression that Ukraine only wants the land back, not the people. These are not the actions of a state seeking reconciliation. It's clear that the outcome will be soft ethnic cleansing at best, a violent purge at worst. Those who stay will be second-class citizens perpetually at risk of losing their remaining rights. One can easily imagine the informal harassment that would be directed at those who stay in a society organized around the goal of punishing "collaborators" for "treason", where "treason" is just living an ordinary life in an area whose leadership changed hands, something ordinary people had no control over. Probably only the poor and the elderly will stay.

I don't have a good feeling about this 'detoxification campaign' given some of the rather colorful statements from the head of this council;

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) secretary, Oleksiy Danilov, addressed the “Russian Gauleiter refuse” in Crimea, describing “in broad strokes” how Crimea’s de-occupation will proceed after Ukraine liberates the peninsula.

He said those Ukrainian citizens who have become collaborators will be “target number one” of the process to “forever discourage anyone from even looking toward Moscovia or opening their mouths without thinking carefully before commenting on something related to Ukraine.”

https://www.ukrainianworldcongress.org/crimea-de-occupation-in-12-steps-by-security-defense-council-secretary/

Same guy: The Russian language should disappear from the Ukrainian territory altogether - Danilov

"The Russian language must disappear from our territory altogether, as an element of hostile propaganda and brainwashing of our population."

https://frontnews.eu/en/news/details/44456

Imagine being an ethnic Russian in Crimea and reading this. Would you want to reunite with Ukraine? These are the statements of people who are either lusting for vengeance or trying to scare Crimeans into fleeing, not of those who are willing to undergo a long, difficult and painful reconciliation process in order to become a unified nation again.
