Reuters: Ukraine disrupted deal on shipping in the Black Sea

The agency writes that Russia and Ukraine have been negotiating for two months on safe navigation in the Black Sea through the mediation of Turkey. The deal, according to sources, was close to being concluded, but Ukraine suddenly pulled out of the agreement at the last moment.

The reasons for Kiev’s actions are unknown: the preliminary agreement was concluded in March, and the Ukrainian side was not against the Turkish President publicly announcing the deal on March 30.

If the agreement had been concluded, Russia and Ukraine would have provided guarantees that they would not fire at ships carrying non-military cargo. Turkey acted as a mediator

Copy of the terms anywhere?

Often the terms include one that the terms will not be released until all agree.
So this one was leaked. Reuters was the only source.

This whole grain deal is the poorest reported story in recent history.
The MSM report a Russian grain embargo but give zero examples other than Kiev laid mines.
I saw a single video clip of Russians boarding a ship for inspection then leaving.
This is a time where everyone has smart phones.

So the Russians are barred from the Olympics under their own flag and the unflagged ones limited in numbers. Also no Russian teams allowed. So Macron wants a Ukr cease fire during the Olympics.

Now  planned peace talks in Switzerland not including Russia. Chinese diplomats asked what they thought. In inscrutable diplomat speak, call us when you are serious.

I recall Switzerland was neutral from WWI through Hitler until Ukraine now anti Russian. Too many females and feminized men in the loop.

Vladimir Putin's leadership changed everything for Russia and can be attributed to the horrific crimes committed by NATO in Yugoslavia in March 1999. What comes next may surprise you.

Washington’s commitment to Israel’s defense has caused envy in Kiev, the Wall Street Journal has quoted the academic as saying

There is growing disenchantment with the US among Ukrainians over its perceived lack of commitment to their defense, the Wall Street Journal has reported, citing the director of the Center for International Studies at the Odessa National University.

Vladimir Dubovyk told the newspaper in an article on Monday that the swift action from the US and its NATO allies to fend off a massive Iranian missile and drone strike on Israel at the weekend stands in stark contrast to their apparent reluctance to beef up Ukraine’s air defenses amid its conflict with Russia.

Kiev wants security guarantees from its Western backers similar to the level of protection that the US provides Israel, President Vladimir Zelensky’s chief of staff, Andrey Yermak, said on Wednesday.

The Ukrainian government is negotiating a series of treaties intended to seal the country’s pro-Western alignment until it is granted full NATO membership. Officials in Kiev say the deals will secure long-term military assistance from the US and its allies, regardless of political changes that might otherwise prompt donors to cut the aid.

I will read the whole thing later.

‘Political Clown’ Zelensky May Be Ukraine’s Last President - Ukrainian Politician

In a historical exposé for Russia’s Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper, Medvedchuk, who is perhaps best known for his work uncovering American biolabs in Ukraine, detailed how, in the thirty-three years of Ukrainian independence, each of its six successive presidents had a common policy – promising their people one thing and delivering something else.
...
“Today, Western propagandists work to convince Ukrainians that they will not succeed without their own statehood, but in reality this statehood was sold to international corporations a long time ago,” Medvedchuk stressed, arguing that in its present form, such statehood “does not correspond to the national interests of Ukrainians.”
...

...
It all began with Ukraine’s very first president, Leonid Kravchuk, the politician argues.
“He defeated the dissident Viacheslav Chornovil in the elections. And the people of Ukraine expected that the former communist ideologue would not pursue an anti-Russian policy or grovel before the West. This didn’t happen, and, having received power, Kravchuk began to pursue a policy much more radical than Chornovil would have. An economist by training, he triggered the collapse of the country’s economy,” Medvedchuk wrote.
...
Similar processes would continue with subsequent presidents, Medvedchuk argued, from Leonid Kuchma (elected by residents of southeastern Ukraine on the expectation that he would pursue a Russia-friendly policy), to Viktor Yushchenko – only elected as a result of an unprecedented third round of voting in 2005 thanks to the first Maidan color revolution, to Viktor Yanukovych, who improved ties with Russia but continued to “flirt” with the EU. “As a result, Yanukovych, who wanted to sit on two chairs at once, lost his seat.”
When Petro Poroshenko was selected in Ukraine’s sham of an election in 2014 in the wake of the Euromaidan coup, Medvedchuk recalled, people expected him to restore peace in the Donbass and restore some semblance of cooperation with Russia, but instead got an intensification of “anti-Russia hysteria” to the level of state policy in the form of the constitutionally enshrined “obligation to join the EU and NATO,” and the creation of a puppet church in the form of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, “which launched an attack on the only canonical Orthodox Church in Ukraine. If Poroshenko had declared all these intentions before the elections, he would have never received a majority of votes,” Medvedchuk believes.
...
“Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and statehood have been sold, squandered and disposed of by all six of its presidents. This happened according to the same pattern: the candidate would promise one thing, but do the exact opposite. He would promise wealth, but create poverty. He would promise rule of law, but encourage lawlessness and corruption. He would promise peace but provoke war,” Medvedchuk wrote.
