Frankly, given the lunatics in the region, the least not being Iran...this makes sense, Israel should have a strategic missile capability in the region, to keep lunatics at bay, to be less reliant on the US which if another Obama-like ass-clown is in power would be counted to be an adversary not an ally...and it would augment their air force capability and be less vulnerable defensively than having their main option as one option.
