Unh hunh.  Majority there don't want to see it either, that for all their attempts at European Unification, mashing together different cultures doesn't work - not within a continent nor a country.  Chief difficulty is admitting their wrong-footedness in forcing it on people - multiculturalism is the death of all cultures save the dominent one, and that will be the most ruthless.

Come on, people! The only reason that the "European Union" was able to become one body was because each individual country secretly hoped that the Union, as a whole, would bail their sorry asses out of the fiscal situation in which they find themselves.

BAS speaks Truth to Power.

When the E.U. was first being discussed I told a friend that it would wind up being a disaster since European nations haven't agreed on a Godd*mned thing in a thousand years except the need to get rid of Hitler and even that wasn't unanimous .

The EU only worked for those countries that stood the receive money from the deal but screwed the ones paying out. What were looking at is a fight over money and who gets what and who pays. Doomed to fail from day one.

For a while there the Frogs & Krauts we're gettin' along, but then the Hun had to absorb their poor eastern bretheren and their lean finances and tight money policies flew out the window and they became just another euro-socialist state.  Now their all in dire straits ecomically and the few rays of philosophical hope tyrying to beat back the darkness of socialism and mutli-culti fever aren't enough to save the patient...so a breakup is inevitable.  No way in heck do the slightly better off want to bail out their poorer cousins again. not when their own viability is in question!
