God what an idiot. The argument that it would benefit the economy through new construction workers and doctors is the logical equivalent of plugging a power strip into itself and expecting the remaining outlets to have electricity.

No doubt. Some conservative who doesn't GAS about being taken seriously should come out every time one of these dolts says something like this and make a mirror statement, and watch the media react. When they swarm, the person could say, "well, I agree with what _______ said yesterday." Make them eat their own stupidity and their own bias in one motion.

The problem with learning how to do everything just like dad did it is that the world doesn't exactly stand still. It's a new world and, although the drones who vote him into office buy his crap, there are fewer and fewer non-constituents who still do. JJ has never been anything but a shakedown artist and JJjr is at some point going to have to learn a new trade.

Until his district is redrawn to include a majority of non-illiterate persons who do not depend on the dole for existence he will continue, as does Alcee Hastings and Sheila Jackson Lee and others.
