Heard a guy on the radio talking about this...said he is with Davy now...and like before Davy is still getting all the girls!  LOL!

The show wasn't on long, but it was goofy fun like everything back then, another marker of a long ago youth fading away...

The Monkees was an ingenious vehicle to capitalize on (or exploit if you wanna look at it that way) Beatle-mania on American TV. I really loved it as a kid.

RIP

I was hooked with the Beatles but seeing the Monkees sealed the deal for me. I had a penchant for music already but the idea of being able to have so much fun doing what you love to do was irresistible. Of course I soon enough discovered the realities of being a musician and demoted it to hobby status, but still remember them fondly.
