I have spent the last few days posting on article on NRO about Trump. Seems that NRO and the status quo feel that any support for Trump comes from the lo-info crowd and will not admit that the support for trump is more a stick in the eye to the republican elite than a real endorsement of trump. There just seems to be a mind-block when it comes to the frustration level of the conservatives with the likes of boehner et al and no matter how many posters call fowl, NRO comes up the next day with another trump diatribe. They refuse delivery of the message they are being sent and that is to their peril as I say most would rather not vote than vote for Jeb, but doing so would jeopardize ground gained on the state and local levels
My sister asked me if I was watching the debate last night, I said "no". She was surprised.
Frankly, what's the point?

The election cycle’s stupid is already flowing. The press is in heat for their BFF party and begging for a quick grope under the bleachers. Unbiased journalists like former White House Communications Director George Stephanopoulos, Imaginary War Hero Brian Williams, and America’s State Sponsored Pravda Analogue are busily examining why Fox News is the work of Satan. Fox news is making bank while their competitors languish. Newspapers employ semi-literate journalist majors to write half assed articles about why Americans are dickheads. Their customers, possibly tiring of being called dickheads, turn to Facebook for news. Thomas Sowell writes eloquent pieces about why journalist majors are semi-literate and gets a small loyal following and constant haranguing by folks that can’t abide a black conservative.
A third of the populace is terrified by Trump’s hair and another third is delighted to see the first third quaking in fear. The remaining third missed the whole thing while playing with their smart phone.

The tone of politics has changed in my lifetime. Americans always bitch (and I think that’s healthy) but the bitching seems more bitter each year. I remember disagreements about politics in all eras but I never felt quite as hated as the last decade or so. I’ve had a hard time articulating what changed. The Z-Man sums it up better than I:

Exactly! Candidates who are nothing like me will spend most of 2016 pursuing the votes of people who hate me. I’m stuck standing around like Rodney Dangerfield. What’s wrong with my vote? Doesn’t anyone want it?
Also, for all of my joking about urbane yahoos and 25 year old unemployed interns, I don’t hate them. But they hate me. Not for anything personal. I’m hated because I live in reality. I feed pigs, butcher them, and make bacon. I cut firewood because it’s cold in the winter. I go fishing. It doesn’t get more real than that. People who go apesh*t over a safari in Zimbabwe tend to find my very existence inconveniently and diametrically opposed to them. Not my opinions but my very existence. Some of us, when faced with a differing viewpoint, might ignore it or try to learn from it. Others might try to isolate the heathen and stamp him out.

Bernie is nuts, but he’s honest. He skips right over all the typical democrat feel good, heart string tugging reasons why they think the government should control everything, and gets right to the government controlling everything. He is economically illiterate. Those Occupy Democrat memes going around Facebook where they are quoting Bernie f***ing up some basic economic principle are literally painful. Every time you share one of those, an accountant dies.
The thing everybody needs to remember is that every single election cycle we go through this period where the media tries to pick the eventual GOP candidate for us. Their criteria are A. Can the democrat eventually beat them? And B. If they do somehow win, will they not rock the boat too bad for democrats? McCain is the greatest example of that ever. This time around their obvious pick was Jeb Bush. For weeks it was Jeb, Jeb, Jeb. Only Jeb was dull and Trump makes great TV. If you look at early polling it almost always correlates with how much media attention the candidate is receiving. So, a candidate polling at 5% is usually getting 5% of the coverage, etc.
Trump comes along, he’s bombastic, unapologetic, and simply does not give a sh*t. The real lesson to be taken from Trump and Bernie is that many Americans are so damned tired of the establishment and the media that they’ll root for anybody, no matter how crazy they are, if they’ll just quit sucking up and actually stand for something.
But here is the problem with Trump, and it isn’t his personality or being willing to insult people (because if I’m judging these people on personality, I’d probably get along with him in person way better than most of the others, and the Rosie line made me do a spit take). It is because he’s been a Republican less time than Bernie has been a Democrat. When I’ve talked to the hard core Stormtrumpers they’ll say he’s great on the border! Okay, but what about his record on abortion, guns, crony capitalism, government intervention, eminent domain, and single payer healthcare? Suck, suck, suck… oh but on that one he evolved… This week.
For the people convinced that Trump is the Real Conservative in the race, and that the other 15 are all RINOs, put down the crack pipe. This is the same guy who a couple of years ago was outraged about violent videogames and saying how somebody needed to do something about them. Yeah, there’s a dude totally grounded in the Bill of Rights.
And before any fanatical Trump fan yells at me again about Megan Kelly was mean and how I just listen to FOX News, I cancelled cable like a year ago, so I don’t watch TV news unless I’m on it. Sheesh. The hard core Trump fans remind me a lot of the old hard core Ron Paul fans.

None of it is real, and none of the playing characters is worthy of being taken seriously. Not worth getting upset over how one puppet is treated over another. The truth of the signal is that personal slights, feuds and revenge make good entertainment and push the desired narrative, whereas debates over actual policy, facts and possible courses of action do not.

Today's big puzzle is how so many otherwise rational people have become enamored of Donald Trump, projecting onto him virtues and principles that he clearly does not have, and ignoring gross defects that are all too blatant.
There was a time when someone who publicly mocked a handicapped man would have told us all we needed to know about his character, and his political fling would have been over. But that was before we became a society where common decency is optional.

What kind of deals would Donald Trump make? He has already praised the Supreme Court's decision in "Kelo v. City of New London" which said that the government can seize private property to turn it over to another private party.

In one of my first conversations at the Radisson, with two Republican activists, I asked a simple what's-up question about Trump. Both immediately responded in exactly the same way: "I don't know anybody who supports him." They're politically active and aware, but they said they have no contact in their daily lives with even a single person who supports their party's front-runner.
After that conversation, I began to ask everyone I met: Do you know anyone who supports Donald Trump? In more cases than not — actually, in nearly all the cases — the answer was no. I asked one woman Friday night, and she said she hadn't thought about it. I ran into her the next morning at breakfast, and she said, "That was a good question you asked me last night, and I've given it some thought." And no, she didn't know any Trump supporters.
An exception: I talked to two party officials, one county and one regional, who said they knew a lot of Trump supporters. "They're not Republicans," one told me, explaining at length that the Trump fans she knows are inexplicably devoted to him — unfazed by Trump's lack of policy specifics or any of his controversial statements. The two officials described having conversations and asking which candidate a voter supports, whereupon the voter quickly glanced left and right, to see if it was OK to talk, and then said, "Trump." That happens a lot, they told me.
The big worry among such Republicans is that there is a Trump movement out there that they can't see. "That's how we got burned by Obama," the politico said, recalling the 2008 race in which the Obama campaign used technology and social media to build a level of support that escaped the notice of Republicans stuck in an earlier era of campaigning. Today, clued-in Republicans know and respect Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, who goes way back in New Hampshire. Corey's good on data and technology, they told me. They wonder if he's got something up his sleeve, and they just don't see it yet.
I talked to a Republican political operative who has done a lot of work in New Hampshire. He has done so much work, in fact, that he knows many of the streets throughout the state by heart, and knows which houses display candidates' political signs at primary time and which don't.
He described driving down a street on the west side of Manchester, checking out the houses. He noticed Trump signs in front of houses that he knew had never displayed signs before. Seeing that, he began to think that all the talk about Trump appealing to a different kind of voter might be true.
The operative recalled how previous candidates had wined and dined McQuaid, kissed his ring, done the whole fawning routine in hopes of winning the paper's endorsement. And when McQuaid didn't give it to them they ... kept mouths shut. Deep inside, they wanted to say to McQuaid the kinds of things Trump actually said, but they didn't have the wherewithal to do it. Truth be told, the operative found Trump's reaction pretty hilarious.
Perhaps the most fundamental reason veteran Republicans can't quite get their heads around the Trump phenomenon is that, if it is real, it would say something about their state that they don't quite understand.
They noted the Republicans who have won the New Hampshire primary in recent years: Romney, John McCain, George W. Bush. (It's been 20 years since 'Pitchfork Pat' Buchanan won the 1996 GOP primary.) For Trump to really be on the verge of victory, wouldn't that mean the state of New Hampshire somehow had a total political personality transplant in the four years since Romney's victory? Is that really possible? Has New Hampshire returned to older times, or taken a turn in some unknown new direction?
Like everything else, they don't know.

Exactly. And I echo what Pan said about seeing Trump as the murder weapon. We were good soldiers, we got the GOP congressional shifts of historic proportions. We won them huge gains in state governorships and legislatures. In return all we have received is derision, scorn, and not even the pretense of enacting our agenda. So eff 'em.

If in fact those three are in effect in a virtual three way tie, sure...two tag-teaming the other out...while somewhat uncouth and craven...would be within the rules but I don't think it is fair to say the person being tossed aside (whoever it may be) or their supporters have no cause to bitch. But who is to say Cruz picks Rubio (I see that as doubtful)...what if it is Rubio picking Cruz (I see that as doubtful too)...or what if it is Trump choosing one of the other two? I could see him taking Rubio, after all if certain pundits are correct and Trump is a closet Dem or no better than a stealth Establishment operative...Rubio makes more sense than Cruz, right?

We always have flawed candidates. That is the nature of electing human beings. We are all flawed and make decisions that will not please everyone all the time. I think this is MOST of the reason you see the NAZI references popping up in regards to Trump. It is a fact that Hitler rose to power in this way.. and Trump is using rhetoric blaming immigrants for the nations problems so kinda sorta but not very much like Hitler with the Jews. Could Trump , using immigration as a cover, implement a system of "papers please" gestapo checkpoints? Could he build a SS squad of "immigration enforcement" Nationwide and make midnight door busting raids to round up illegal immigrants a "normal thing"? A confused mix of Liberals and conservative, which is what one would get if one were simply trying to get elected, if one's principles were about getting ahead and not right and wrong. Yeah, well, think about DHS. Bush did that ... If Trump creates or builds teams to bump the illegal immigrants out, they will still be there to let in (if wanted) in 8 years. I think people know how impossible it is ever to get back what was lost, I don't think anybody beyond optimists on Prozac thinks it is even remotely possible. Other people might not just give a damn out of despair or stupidity. But we keep dancing around the time issue...some people want more time even if it means things break worse later than earlier, and I cannot discount their motivations (spouse/kids/not ready) but I think we have entered the period where everything is so stressed that the time compression is increasing...I am amazed and little bit freaked out by the amount of duress being absorbed, it cannot continue much longer no matter who is running the show.
If Trump does take such measures during his presidency, then he may be a president worth supporting, or even fighting for. If he pursues few or none of these measures, however, we can be relatively certain he is just another establishment puppet playing his part in the false left/right paradigm leading America toward oblivion.
Whatever Trump is, his popularity does indicate a rising tide of discontent within the U.S. The insane circus atmosphere of election 2016 is no coincidence; it is a perfect representation of the overflowing tensions that permeate our culture and are leading to potential earth shattering conflict. Keep in mind that America’s economic situation was already decided back in 2008 and will only become worse as we move into the election season. Whatever tensions we see now will only multiply as financial crisis becomes more apparent to the masses.
The idea that a Trump presidency will change much of anything is a rather farfetched one in my view. Trump’s popularity only suggests that people are seeking alternatives. The damage to America has for the most part already been done, and there will be no avoiding the consequences. That said, how we rebuild can still be determined. No political leader including Trump will ever be able to heal the American system or the American psyche, but the efforts of millions of independent and liberty minded Americans can. We have a long and terrible struggle ahead of us, but to look at it from an “optimistic” perspective, at least Americans are becoming sick of the status quo. That is a start.

Yet none of them ask the essential question: Why is it even necessary to do so?
We begin with the source of the division. One sentence from Ronald Reagan's First Inaugural Address says it all: "Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem." No one is naive enough to advocate the complete elimination of government. Yet there is government and there is big government. The most infuriating government is the sprawling, incompetent, ever-expanding bureaucratic sinkhole that emanates from Washington, DC.
The reason for this condition is simple: Americans have countenanced the evolution of an all-consuming federal leviathan, so removed from the original constraints of the Constitution that it has become unrecognizable.
It wasn't always that way in America, yet it's no secret that a huge portion of the nation likes this pernicious evolution because, unlike Ronald Reagan, they do believe government is the solution to all of our problems. Moreover, they have become so determined to continue down this path that they now vilify and/or censor anyone who stands against it.
Any diminution of the federal government's power is utterly anathema to the American Left, because without the coercive effects of that top-down, one-size-fits-all federal bureaucracy, their power would be severely diminished.
Yet there is a proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. That's because we are the United States of America — 50 separate constituencies where the locus of most power ought to reside. The states are where people live, work and play, and there is no good reason why people in a conservative state like Utah should be forced by the federal leviathan to live their lives exactly like the people in a leftist state like New York — or vice versa.
Why not return as much power as possible to the states? Certainly the Left would complain, but they have their fiefdoms where their power is virtually absolute. Imagine a nation where California could roll out the welcome mat to illegal aliens and Texas could shut down its border. Imagine abortion restrictions handled on a state-by-state basis. Imagine a 50 state experiment to determine a health care system that actually works, rather than everyone forced to live under the disaster of ObamaCare. Imagine a nation where one could far more clearly measure successes and failures of ideology without the federal government's thumb on the scale.
The mechanisms are already in place. "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people," states the Ninth Amendment. "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people," states the Tenth Amendment.
This is by no means a perfect solution to everything that ails us. There are, by necessity, critical decisions that must be made at the federal level. Yet if more of the power resided in the states, national consensus would be easier to achieve for two reasons: The people's current sense of powerlessness would be mitigated, and ideas about what works and what doesn't would be far more obvious.
What would also be far more obvious are the genuine motivations of those who would categorically resist such a re-empowerment of the states and individual Americans. Their lust for unbridled power would be exposed when they make it clear they believe most Americans are incapable of handling Liberty without the coercive guidance that accrues far more perniciously at the federal level. And Americans themselves might re-discover an immutable reality: In the overwhelming majority of cases, effective government operates from the local level upward, not the federal level downward.
We will always be a divided nation. But there are levels of division that are toxic, and levels that are healthy. In a nation of 320 million people, comprised of every ethnic, religious and racial group imaginable, one-size-fits-all is a toxic enterprise. Americans need to seek out political candidates who genuinely champion the restoration of federalism and individual rights. In short, American Liberty.

It wasn't always that way in America, yet it's no secret that a huge portion of the nation likes this pernicious evolution because, unlike Ronald Reagan, they do believe government is the solution to all of our problems. Moreover, they have become so determined to continue down this path that they now vilify and/or censor anyone who stands against it.
Any diminution of the federal government's power is utterly anathema to the American Left, because without the coercive effects of that top-down, one-size-fits-all federal bureaucracy, their power would be severely diminished.
Yet there is a proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. That's because we are the United States of America — 50 separate constituencies where the locus of most power ought to reside. The states are where people live, work and play, and there is no good reason why people in a conservative state like Utah should be forced by the federal leviathan to live their lives exactly like the people in a leftist state like New York — or vice versa.
Why not return as much power as possible to the states? Certainly the Left would complain, but they have their fiefdoms where their power is virtually absolute. Imagine a nation where California could roll out the welcome mat to illegal aliens and Texas could shut down its border. Imagine abortion restrictions handled on a state-by-state basis. Imagine a 50 state experiment to determine a health care system that actually works, rather than everyone forced to live under the disaster of ObamaCare. Imagine a nation where one could far more clearly measure successes and failures of ideology without the federal government's thumb on the scale.
The mechanisms are already in place. "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people," states the Ninth Amendment. "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people," states the Tenth Amendment.
This is by no means a perfect solution to everything that ails us. There are, by necessity, critical decisions that must be made at the federal level. Yet if more of the power resided in the states, national consensus would be easier to achieve for two reasons: The people's current sense of powerlessness would be mitigated, and ideas about what works and what doesn't would be far more obvious.
What would also be far more obvious are the genuine motivations of those who would categorically resist such a re-empowerment of the states and individual Americans. Their lust for unbridled power would be exposed when they make it clear they believe most Americans are incapable of handling Liberty without the coercive guidance that accrues far more perniciously at the federal level. And Americans themselves might re-discover an immutable reality: In the overwhelming majority of cases, effective government operates from the local level upward, not the federal level downward.
We will always be a divided nation. But there are levels of division that are toxic, and levels that are healthy. In a nation of 320 million people, comprised of every ethnic, religious and racial group imaginable, one-size-fits-all is a toxic enterprise. Americans need to seek out political candidates who genuinely champion the restoration of federalism and individual rights. In short, American Liberty.

I think we see the parallels in that yes this is the same sort of election, and its the same sort of insane populism and desire for a "strong man to fix it" in play. But a parallel isn't a destiny. I don't see anything in Trump's history that leads me to believe he is the next Hitler, or that a Trump Presidency will lead to a Third Reich, Concentration Camps and Genocide. But sure, a Third Reich is in the cards from this point forward - and we know a Democrat will try to take us there for sure. Trump probably won't. But lets say he does.. its going to be pretty much the same outcome. This election doesn't matter. If its bugging you. Tune out. After all its just a show, you should really just relax.
And as Libertas suggested - we have ALREADY lost our liberty and our country. What is important now is saving our families and our souls. Warpmine, Please do not misinterpret my remarks - a substantial part of what I say comes in the form of blowing off steam at the idiocy of it all. And the rest comes not so much in advocacy of any particular candidate (my "champion (Walker) ceded the field long ago) but in recognition of the lay of the land.
I believe that Trump is the inevitable candidate - and next president - not because he's the best or the most popular, or the richest, or the meanest but because he played his hand better than any of the others. He correctly guessed the prevailing sentiment in America and effectively tapped into that sentiment. Hell, I've been referring to him as SMOD for cripe's sake!
What we have here is...failure to communicate.
And what we have here is commonly known as a clusterfvck. We have country"men" who not only like the terrible things Ødungo has done to us - they want to double-down on them. And often I find myself thinking we are naive to be pinning our hopes on this. Yes we all know the economy is based largely on fictional abstractions, and that supposedly for that reason it simply cannot continue. But in my daily commute, my time every day in the office, and everywhere else for that matter, I see no evidence that it's going to do anything but keep going. How many interests are vested in it continuing? It's not just the interests of the elites. The commoners are vested in it too.
Maybe they really can just indefinitely create money out of thin air, on the premise that some hypothetical future society will make good on it.
So no. I won't vote for Trump. I won't vote for Hillary. I won't vote. Foregone conclusion anyway.

One of the consequences of this election season is that my estimation of Moonbattery.com has dropped considerably. I understand preferring Ted Cruz. I get that. But for the past few months virtually every post over there has been a takedown of Trump, and some of the tactics are exactly like what the MSM has done to all Republicans for years. It's rather disappointing from a site I used to respect.
They even went so far as to say that Hillary would be better -- and they did not mean from a "worse is better" angle either.
Since I am of the opinion that just about nothing matters at this point given the corrupt systems at play on all stages and sectors, the Rubicon having been crossed multiple times in succession, all one direction...I'm taking the attitude of mocking the entire theatrical performance. I am going to vote for Trump.
We all know what we get with Bernie and Hillary. We may get nothing with Trump too, but you never know, we could get something. We know we get zip with the Democrats, so its worth the risk. At minimum, the economy will finally show some signs of life.

I finally got tired of having an opinion...this first so-called "debate" was yet again another DemoProg-Media Complex conspiracy...it's to the point where the media cannot hide it anymore and the sheeple wandering the streets are senseless to it. B.) I explained this on a radio interview a few weeks ago, and have explained it to people in person several times, and each time the people I have explained it to have declared it a revelation, which “explains everything”. So, I will put it in writing here.
This kayfabe presidential campaign by Trump is about one thing:
Increasing the value of the Trump Brand.
It is NOT about Trump becoming “president” of the former-United States. Never was, folks. It was pre-arranged with the Clintons as a means of re-installing the Clinton mafia in The White House while allowing Trump to evolve the Trump brand and increase the value of the Trump brand by billions of dollars.
Donald Trump began by cultivating his persona as a real estate tycoon and casino mogul in the 1980s. But that is a somewhat limited market, and also very cyclical and risky. After all, building giant mirror-penis skyscrapers and slapping your name on them in gold-mirror caps can only take narcissist so far. He then decided to expand and elevate his persona by moving into entertainment – specifically reality shows – in the 1990s and 2000s. While risky and cyclical like real estate, entertainment is far LESS risky once a given entertainer has established a foothold. Trump did that with “The Apprentice”.
Being “friends” with the Clintons, Trump saw how lucrative the political racketeering paradigm was, specifically the “speaking fees”, which are just extremely thinly-veiled bribes and payola, and the “Clinton Global Initiative”, which is a straight-up money laundering racket. But, in order for Trump to break into the world of ten-figure political racketeering, he needed to evolve his brand even further. He needed to evolve into “Donald Trump: Global Statesman”.
And THAT, my dears, is why he brokered and concocted the kayfabe with the Clintons that you are now seeing. Was Trump inspired in all of this after his dabble in Professional Wrestling a few years ago? Were his business dealings with on again-off again billionaire Vince McMahon (owner of WWF/WWE Pro Wrestling) his inspiration for the kayfabe “presidential” run? NOTHING would surprise me at this point.
Now to the “winning and losing”. This is all fake. Clinton is going to “win” and was always going to win no matter what because the elections themselves are a sham. I know this is really, really hard for Americans to come to grips with, but these national-level elections are all bullsh*t and have been for a while. Donald Trump wants NOTHING TO DO with being “president” of the former-United States. Think about it. What person in their right mind would want to be “president” over the next four years, as the catastrophic destabilization, the aggressive execution of the Cloward-Piven strategy comes to full flower? As I said from the beginning, the Obama regime would incite a race-based civil war inside the U.S., while simultaneously destabilizing the rest of the world AND reforming and arming a new islamic Caliphate. Check. The Obama regime also executed the Cloward-Piven Strategy upon the U.S. economy AND healthcare delivery system. This was done in a two-pronged attack, namely Obamacare and the dissolving of the Mexican border. Check.
Don’t you realize that if Trump “won” and was “president” for the next four years that he would be blamed for all of the sh*t-hitting-the-fan that is going to happen? It would DESTROY HIS BRAND. Now, if Trump “loses”, as was always the plan betwixt him and the Clintons, he STILL has all of the cache of being a nominee for “president”, and still gets his brand transformed into that of “global statesman”, but instead of being blamed for all of the “sh*t hitting the fan” over the next four years, will instead be able to sit back, go on TeeVee, and EVERY TIME SOMETHING HORRIBLE HAPPENS, Trump will say, “If I had been President, that wouldn’t have happened. If I had been President, I would have prevented that….” And thus his brand will increase ALL THE MORE with each coming catastrophe. Ka-ching, ka-ching, ka-ching. Folks, Trump only truly wins, if he “loses”.
I’d also like to point out that this brand evolution involves not just Donald Trump, but it is also pretty clear that he is setting up his kids, especially Ivanka and Eric, to eventually enter the political kayfabe as characters in their own right. Trump is 70 years old, and understands estate planning well. Hell, if the Clintons can set Chelsea up, who has ZERO charisma, then Trump knows he can position Ivanka and Eric to be bigtime players in the political kayfabe.
Trump’s Rhetoric Is All a Farce

I'm going to explain the Donald Trump phenomenon in three movies. And then some text. There's this universal shorthand that epic adventure movies use to tell the good guys from the bad. The good guys are simple folk from the countryside while the bad guys are decadent assholes who live in the city and wear stupid clothes: In Star Wars, Luke is a farm boy while the bad guys live in a shiny space station. In Braveheart, the main character (Dennis Braveheart) is a simple farmer and the dastardly Prince sh*thead lives in a luxurious castle and wears fancy, foppish clothes: The theme expresses itself in several ways -- primitive vs. advanced, tough vs. delicate, masculine vs. feminine, poor vs. rich, pure vs. decadent, traditional vs. weird. All of it is code for rural vs. urban. That tense divide between the two doesn't exist because of these movies, obviously. These movies used it as shorthand because the divide already existed. We country folk are programmed to hate the prissy elites. That brings us to Trump.
6. It's Not About Red And Blue States -- It's About The Country Vs. The City
I was born and raised in Trump country. My family are Trump people. If I hadn't moved away and gotten this ridiculous job, I'd be voting for him. I know I would. See, political types talk about "red states" and "blue states" (where red = Republican/conservative and blue = Democrat/progressive), but forget about states. If you want to understand the Trump phenomenon, dig up the much more detailed county map. Here's how the nation voted county by county in the 2012 election -- again, red is Republican: The country is lava. Holy cockslaps, that makes it look like Obama's blue party is some kind of fringe political faction that struggles to get 20 percent of the vote. The blue parts, however, are more densely populated -- they're the cities. In the upper left, you see the blue Seattle/Tacoma area, lower down is San Francisco and then L.A. The blue around the dick-shaped Lake Michigan is made of cities like Minneapolis, Milwaukee, and Chicago. In the northeast is, of course, New York and Boston, leading down into Philadelphia, which leads into a blue band which connects a bunch of southern cities like Charlotte and Atlanta. Our movies, shows, songs, and news all radiate out from those blue islands. And if you live in the red, that f**king sucks. See, I'm from a "blue" state -- Illinois -- but the state isn't blue. Freaking Chicago is blue. I'm from a tiny town in one of the blood-red areas:As a kid, visiting Chicago was like, well, Katniss visiting the capital. Or like Zoey visiting the city of the future in this ridiculous book. "Their ways are strange." And the whole goddamned world revolves around them. Every TV show is about LA or New York, maybe with some Chicago or Baltimore thrown in. When they did make a show about us, we were jokes -- either wide-eyed, naive fluffballs (Parks And Recreation, and before that, Newhart) or filthy murderous mutants (True Detective, and before that, Deliverance). You could feel the arrogance from hundreds of miles away. "Nothing that happens outside the city matters!" they say at their cocktail parties, blissfully unaware of where their food is grown. Hey, remember when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans? Kind of weird that a big hurricane hundreds of miles across managed to snipe one specific city and avoid everything else. To watch the news (or the multiple movies and TV shows about it), you'd barely hear about how the storm utterly steamrolled rural Mississippi, killing 238 people and doing an astounding $125 billion in damage. But who cares about those people, right? What's newsworthy about a bunch of toothless hillbillies crying over a flattened trailer? New Orleans is culturally important. It matters. To those ignored, suffering people, Donald Trump is a brick chucked through the window of the elites. "Are you assholes listening now?"
5 City People Are From A Different Goddamned Planet
"But isn't this really about race? Aren't Trump supporters just a bunch of racists? Don't they hate cities because that's where the brown people live?" Look, we're going to get actual Nazis in the comment section of this article. Not "calling them Nazis for argument points" Nazis, but actual "Swastikas in their avatars, rooted against Indiana Jones" Nazis. Those people exist. But what I can say, from personal experience, is that the racism of my youth was always one step removed. I never saw a family member, friend, or classmate be mean to the actual black people we had in town. We worked with them, played video games with them, waved to them when they passed. What I did hear was several million comments about how if you ever ventured into the city, winding up in the "wrong neighborhood" meant you'd get dragged from your car, raped, and burned alive. Looking back, I think the idea was that the local minorities were fine ... as long as they acted exactly like us. If you'd asked me at the time, I'd have said the fear and hatred wasn't of people with brown skin, but of that specific tribe they have in Chicago -- you know, the guys with the weird slang, music and clothes, the dope fiends who murder everyone they see. It was all part of the bizarro nature of the cities, as perceived from afar -- a combination of hyper-aggressive savages and frivolous white elites. Their ways are strange. And it wasn't like pop culture was trying to talk me out of it:It's not just perception, either -- the stats back up the fact that these are parallel universes. People living in the countryside are twice as likely to own a gun and will probably get married younger. People in the urban "blue" areas talk faster and walk faster. They are more likely to be drug abusers but less likely to be alcoholics. The blues are less likely to own land and, most importantly, they're less likely to be Evangelical Christians. In the small towns, this often gets expressed as "They don't share our values!" and my progressive friends love to scoff at that. "What, like illiteracy and homophobia?!?!"
Nope. Everything.
4. Trends Always Start In The Cities -- And Not All Of Them Are Good
The cities are always living in the future. I remember when our little town got our first Chinese restaurant and, 20 years later, its first fancy coffee shop. All of this stuff had turned up in movies (set in L.A., of course) decades earlier. I remember watching '80s movies and mocking the "Valley Girl" stereotypes -- young girls from, like, California who would, like, say, "like" in between every third word. Twenty years later, you can hear me doing the same in every Cracked podcast. The cancer started in L.A. and spread to the rest of America. Well, the perception back then was that those city folks were all turning atheist, abandoning church for their bisexual sex parties. That, we were told, was literally a sign of the Apocalypse. Not just due to the spiritual consequences (which were dire), but the devastation that would come to the culture. I couldn't imagine any rebuttal. In that place, at that time, the church was everything. Don't take my word for it -- listen to the experts:

Church was where you made friends, met girls, networked for jobs, got social support. The poor could get food and clothes there, couples could get advice on their marriages, addicts could try to get clean. But now we're seeing a startling decline in Christianity among the general population, the godless disease having spread alongside Valley Girl talk. So according to Fox News, what's the result of those decadent, atheist, amoral snobs in the cities having turned their noses up at God?
Chaos.
The fabric has broken down, they say, just as predicted. And what rural Americans see on the news today is a sneak peek at their tomorrow. The savages are coming. Blacks riot, Muslims set bombs, gays spread AIDS, Mexican cartels behead children, atheists tear down Christmas trees. Meanwhile, those liberal Lena Dunhams in their $5,000-a-month apartments sip wine and say, "But those white Christians are the real problem!" Terror victims scream in the street next to their own severed limbs, and the response from the elites is to cry about how men should be allowed to use women's restrooms and how it's cruel to keep chickens in cages. Madness. Their heads are so far up their asses that they can't tell up from down. Basic, obvious truths that have gone unquestioned for thousands of years now get laughed at and shouted down -- the fact that hard work is better than dependence on government, that children do better with both parents in the picture, that peace is better than rioting, that a strict moral code is better than blithe hedonism, that humans tend to value things they've earned more than what they get for free, that not getting exploded by a bomb is better than getting exploded by a bomb.
Or as they say out in the country, "Don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining."
The foundation upon which America was undeniably built -- family, faith, and hard work -- had been deemed unfashionable and small-minded. Those snooty elites up in their ivory tower laughed as they kicked away that foundation, and then wrote 10,000-word thinkpieces blaming the builders for the ensuing collapse.
3 The Rural Areas Have Been Beaten To sh*t
Don't message me saying all those things I listed are wrong. I know they're wrong. Or rather, I think they're wrong, because I now live in a blue county and work for a blue industry. I know the Good Old Days of the past were built on slavery and segregation, I know that entire categories of humanity experienced religion only as a boot on their neck. I know that those "traditional families" involved millions of women trapped in kitchens and bad marriages. I know gays lived in fear and abortions were back-alley affairs.
I know the changes were for the best.
Try telling that to anybody who lives in Trump country. They're getting the sh*t kicked out of them. I know, I was there. Step outside of the city, and the suicide rate among young people f**king doubles. The recession pounded rural communities, but all the recovery went to the cities. The rate of new businesses opening in rural areas has utterly collapsed. See, rural jobs used to be based around one big local business -- a factory, a coal mine, etc. When it dies, the town dies. Where I grew up, it was an oil refinery closing that did us in. I was raised in the hollowed-out shell of what the town had once been. The roof of our high school leaked when it rained. Cities can make up for the loss of manufacturing jobs with service jobs -- small towns cannot. That model doesn't work below a certain population density. If you don't live in one of these small towns, you can't understand the hopelessness. The vast majority of possible careers involve moving to the city, and around every city is now a hundred-foot wall called "Cost of Living." Let's say you're a smart kid making $8 an hour at Walgreen's and aspire to greater things. Fine, get ready to move yourself and your new baby into a 700-square-foot apartment for $1,200 a month, and to then pay double what you're paying now for utilities, groceries, and babysitters. Unless, of course, you're planning to move to one of "those" neighborhoods (hope you like being set on fire!). In a city, you can plausibly aspire to start a band, or become an actor, or get a medical degree. You can actually have dreams. In a small town, there may be no venues for performing arts aside from country music bars and churches. There may only be two doctors in town -- aspiring to that job means waiting for one of them to retire or die. You open the classifieds and all of the job listings will be for fast food or convenience stores. The "downtown" is just the corpses of mom and pop stores left shattered in Walmart's blast crater, the "suburbs" are trailer parks. There are parts of these towns that look post-apocalyptic. I'm telling you, the hopelessness eats you alive. And if you dare complain, some liberal elite will pull out their iPad and type up a rant about your racist white privilege. Already, someone has replied to this with a comment saying, "You should try living in a ghetto as a minority!" Exactly. To them, it seems like the plight of poor minorities is only used as a club to bat away white cries for help. Meanwhile, the rate of rural white suicides and overdoses skyrockets. sh*t, at least politicians act like they care about the inner cities.
2 Everyone Lashes Out When They Don't Have A Voice
It really does feel like the worst of both worlds: all the ravages of poverty, but none of the sympathy. "Blacks burn police cars, and those liberal elites say it's not their fault because they're poor. My son gets jailed and fired over a baggie of meth, and those same elites make jokes about his missing teeth!" You're everyone's punching bag, one of society's last remaining safe comedy targets. They take it hard. These are people who come from a long line of folks who took pride in looking after themselves. Where I'm from, you weren't a real man unless you could repair a car, patch a roof, hunt your own meat, and defend your home from an intruder. It was a source of shame to be dependent on anyone -- especially the government.You mowed your own lawn and fixed your own pipes when they leaked, you hauled your own firewood in your own pickup truck. (Mine was a 1994 Ford Ranger! The current owner says it still runs!)
Not like those hipsters in their tiny apartments, or "those people" in their public housing projects, waiting for the landlord any time something breaks, knowing if things get too bad they can just pick up and move. When you don't own anything, it's all somebody else's problem. "They probably don't pay taxes, either! Just treating America itself as a subsidized apartment they can trash!" The rural folk with the Trump signs in their yards say their way of life is dying, and you smirk and say what they really mean is that blacks and gays are finally getting equal rights and they hate it. But I'm telling you, they say their way of life is dying because their way of life is dying. It's not their imagination. No movie about the future portrays it as being full of traditional families, hunters, and coal mines. Well, except for Hunger Games, and that was depicted as an apocalypse. So yes, they vote for the guy promising to put things back the way they were, the guy who'd be a wake-up call to the blue islands. They voted for the brick through the window. It was a vote of desperation.

Aren't they just a mass of ignorant, rageful, crude, cursing, spitting subhumans? Gee, I hope not. I have to hug a bunch of them at Thanksgiving. And when I do, it will be with the knowledge that if I hadn't moved away, I'd be on the other side of the fence, leaving nasty comments on this article the alternate universe version of me wrote. It feels good to dismiss people, to mock them, to write them off as deplorables. But you might as well take time to try to understand them, because I'm telling you, they'll still be around long after Trump is gone.

SS-27/RS-24 YARS - The SS-27’s RV is capable of making evasive maneuvers as it approaches its target. It likely also carries countermeasures and decoys to decrease the chances of interception by missile defenses. The missile is shielded against radiation, electromagnetic interference and physical disturbance; whilst previous missiles could be disabled by detonating a nuclear warhead within ten kilometers. It is reported to typically be equipped with a 550 kT yield nuclear warhead; however, there an unconfirmed report suggest a yield of 1 MT has been achieved, as well as the placement of up to six MIRV warheads. It uses a Post-Boost Vehicle (PBV) system to deploy its warhead(s) using a digital inertial navigation system with a GLOSNASS (equivalent to Global Position Satellite) receiver. In 2016, Russia has 18 road-mobile SS-27 launchers deployed, along with 60 more deployed in fixed silos.

Then there is electoral integrity. We’ve seen numerous investigations of voter fraud and no one cares. We have one party refusing to clear voter rolls of ineligible voters, while also on a quest to ensure that no one need prove his identity to vote. Sure, Democrats have good reason to believe their voters are too lazy and/or stupid to obtain ID cards, but we all know why they really oppose voter ID: it makes it harder to cheat. And then there’s Project Veritas. We have a Democrat party operative and the husband of a sitting Democrat congressbeing caught on tape proving Democrat catspaws paid to cause violence at a Trump rally, violence which the media covered and blamed on Trump to damaging effect. And this guy went to the White House hundreds of times and frequently met with President Faily McWorsethancarter. Hey Pearl Clutchers, read that again and tell me how this isn’t a thousand times worse than Watergate. Then tell me how this is getting only a millionth of the outrage and coverage if the system isn’t rigged. So we’re supposed to take it on faith that the votes are going to be counted fairly? Uh huh, sure. If you think Trump is somehow morally obligated to preemptively give up his right to challenge the result after that, you can kiss his hanging chad. And then there’s the corruption of the rule of law. Trump was right – Hillary should not even be running because if we had a single justice system – instead of one for the powerful and connected and another for everyone else – her unhealthy carcass would be in federal prison. That’s not hyperbole – that’s literal truth understood by anyone who worked with classified materials and/or actually passed a bar exam. Then there is the IRS persecution of conservative organizations that has gone totally unpunished. And, of course, the Wikileaks treasure trove has shown that the Democrats simply ignore the law in their campaigns, secure in the knowledge that they will never be held accountable while their opponents will see a weaponized FBI and DOJ turned upon them.
The system is rigged.
It would be nice to be able to say, “Well, she won fair and square.” But that’s not going to happen. My gut says that a majority of people will vote for her, but I live in Los Angeles and a lot of people around here are libfascist half-wits, so maybe my perspective is skewed. Maybe the polls are right – you know, the super scientific ones putting the race somewhere between Felonia von Pantsuit up 12 and Trump up 3. But this election won’t be “fair” in any sense of the word. The media has put not just its thumb but its bloated behind on the scale. All of us have not been heard, much less been respected. How can we trust the votes will be counted fairly when clearly documented admissions of election tampering get a mere shrug if they aren’t ignored entirely? Sorry (not sorry), but like Trump, I refuse to be a good little boy and politely agree in advance to accept whatever the ruling class chooses to do without protest or complaint. You want us to respect and honor what you say are the results of the election? Start by respecting and honoring us. Is this dangerous talk? Hell yes – but the danger doesn’t come from us pointing out the corruption. The danger is the corruption. I walked through wrecked villages in the aftermath of a civil war, so I sure as hell don’t need your lessons about what lies at the bottom of the slippery slope your ruling class is tobogganing down. I know – and as my new book predicts, it’s really bad. But the solution isn’t to try to shut us up when we dare point out the truth – nor will it work. As the hep kids say, we are now hella woke. The solution is to demand the system do its damn job and root out corruption and earn back the default acceptance we would love nothing more than to be able to offer again, confident that the system is unrigged. Too bad if our refusal to simply acquiesce to your scam is inconvenient.

Painful as it may be to realize that we are reduced to considering the impeachability of a presidential candidate, that is a reality that will not go away, just because we don't like it.
How impeachable is Hillary Clinton? Since she would be "the first woman President," any criticism of her, much less any impeachment, would bring loud howls from the media across the country that ugly sexist bias was behind any opposition to anything she did -- no matter how awful. Hillary in the White House would have a blank check, and she would not hesitate to use it.
Donald Trump has no such exemption. Neither the media nor Congressional Republicans would automatically spring to his defense if he overstepped the line. His impeachability may be his most important asset in a year of painful choices.

Yea....Voted. My overwhelming feeling is the country is so corrupt it wouldn't surprise me if Hillary was declared winner by a landslide. Progs are so emboldened today.
My wife, son & daughter accompanied me to our polling local (3 1/2 blocks away) to cast our block of votes. As we walked to the door, I mentioned that campaigning in front of a voting location was prohibited, but sang a verse from Handel's Messiah: "The Trump-ets will sound, and the dead shall be raised..."

Yep. This means Trump's margin of victory was even bigger than these results show. It was too big for them to pull off a steal. You know damn well that's why it was taking so long to finalize the returns from Pennsylvania and Florida. They were waiting to see what sort of gap they'd need to make up with a trunk full of absentee and provisional ballots.

We have a unique opportunity with Trump. He is a ballsy enough guy who doesn't care about the criticisms hurled at him, and that means he might be capable of doing things Republicans never do: deal lasting damage to the institutional Left. Since Reagan every time we manage to get a Republican in the White House or in control of Congress, they are always content to plot a straight course without rocking the boat. The liberals, on the other hand, know how to capitalize on their political victories.
It is time we do the same. His presidency must make the Left howl in pain. The first and best way to do that is to use the multiple Supreme Court appointments he will be making to nominate young originalists to the court. This should apply to lower court appointments too. He should make good on his promise to pursue an Amendment enacting term limits on Congress. Congress will not be on board with that, but I think the mood of the country will not tolerate self-interested congressmen pushing back on it. He needs to also make tangible progress on the illegal immigration issue. I think a starting point for that is to begin aggressive investigation and punishment of businesses that hire them.

The rules of the deal were pretty straightforward. For whites, they stated that outright racist statements and explicit appeals to white racial identity were essentially banned. Along with this, whites accepted a double standard about the appropriateness of cultural and political tribalism. For obvious and reasonable historical and economic reasons, black and brown people explicitly pursuing their own interests was viewed differently than whites doing the same thing.
The other side of the deal was that so long as white people were sufficiently punished for acts of outright racism, minority leaders and communities would be cautious with accusations of racism. The key here was that once leveled and proved, the accusation of racism was a blow most whites could not come back from. I am fine with White Nationalism at this point. Intellectually I would have preferred a form of Civic Nationalism, but the Left destroyed the conditions that could have permitted a true and genuine multi-racial nation. We had something closer to it before, when we had people of different races but who conformed to a backdrop culture of Anglo-Saxon origin and temperament. The Left blew that out of the water and transformed it into a bunch of individual nations united by their opposition to that backdrop Anglo-Saxon nation. So if that backdrop nation is to survive at all, it will now have to become self-consciously ethnic. It has already begun.

Obama-like polices are the problem for Russia. The US is too invested in te middle east because of petro-dollar concerns. I think it is very likely a President Clinton would have escalated the conflict there - possibly to the brink of Nuclear war - not a full exchange, but tactical exchanges in the proxy nations, with the looming threat of a full on attack. I think its entirely possible that Russia might ave wanted to avoid that. But its also equally possible they just wanted to sow and exacerbate our divisions such that we continue to concentrate more on internal issues and less on external ones.

Three Democratic electors have tried to be "faithless" by not voting for Clinton. One in Maine, one in Minnesota and one in Colorado. Those votes were changed and registered for Clinton.
