Probably a safe choice, and I do not disagree with his book criticizing civilian and military leadership going into Vietnam...but more than one person sounded warning bells about taking on that foe, and even events experienced failed to properly address things...that mess was all on LBJ, McNamara and Westmoreland...for the latter I expected better from someone who learned under Patton...but osmosis only goes so far...

Hopefully McMaster is the right guy...and knows how to navigate the Deep Stater's...   ::praying::
