Walnuts are drugs, says FDA (http://www.realfarmacy.com/walnuts-are-drugs-says-fda/)
Seen any walnuts in your medicine cabinet lately? According to the Food and Drug Administration, that is precisely where you should find them. Because Diamond Foods made truthful claims about the health benefits of consuming walnuts that the FDA didn’t approve, it sent the company a letter declaring, “Your walnut products are drugs” — and “new drugs” at that — and, therefore, “they may not legally be marketed … in the United States without an approved new drug application.” The agency even threatened Diamond with “seizure” if it failed to comply.

I just found out that I'm allergic to them.
I know they're good for you but never cared for them

Would a nuclear exchange really be that bad. DC would be toast, NY would be toast, Rural America would be free.

So, when people in Colorado make brownies, they'll need a prescription for the walnuts AND the marijuana? ::falldownshocked::

I eat them a lot.
Guess I need to buy more.

Isn't it sad? I would welcome a natural or manmade disaster that completely wipes out DC, or any other bastion of Leftism. I would rather deal with the aftermath of a nuclear strike on DC than the intentional treason of the political class against the country.

I'll cross my fingers but won't hold my breath.

Is there any clearer evidence that bureaucracies inevitably become self-interested, self-serving entities? Every time you hear some variation of the phrase "the government has an interest in", that's proof that it is operating outside its mandate.
The government has no interests of its own. It does not have the prerogative to create or decide upon what is in its interest. Its interests are what we tell it they are, and not one iota more. And if we decide something is no longer in the government's interest, that is our prerogative. What's next, will bottled water become a drug if its labeler claims it hydrates and eliminates thirst?
