I'm a big fan of Mark Steyn, and I thoroughly enjoy the shows he guest hosts. Walter Williams is good too, and Mark Belling isn't too bad. Honestly though, I just can't even listen when Mark Davis is hosting. Something about him grates on my nerves, maybe it's the vaguely preachy demeanor, but I think it's more just general goofiness. It's nails on chalkboard.

Not fond of Belling, Davis is annoying, Walter Williams is always interesting.
I like to listen to Mark Steyn, but not in this format; his wittiness is distracting.
*sigh*
Rush is Rush and there is no satisfactory substitute, imo.

I enjoy reading Steyn more than listening to him. IMHO, he meanders a bit in a live situation, and loses focus. Don't get me wrong, I like listening to him just fine - he's just not my fave.
I like Walter Williams the best of all those listed. But my favorite sub is no longer available because his appearances on Limbaugh's show as a sub propelled him to his own national time slot, and that would be Jason Lewis.
That said, I agree with Pan. There is no satisfactory sub.

Other: Chris Matthews
(just kidding!)

I liked Lewis best as well. Of those listed I guess Steyn or Williams...
Need to find some new talent.
I'm available, but they better have that big red delay button ready...or plenty of sound-effects...to cover my occasional lapse into colorful language!
;D

I like Williams and Steyn, mainly. I haven't heard anyone I really don't like.
-
Excepting Walter Williams it always comes to ->"get on with it man".
Walter always has a point and you know he's going to make it quickly.
He also has a warm grace and humor that invites you to continue with him.

I do like Walter Williams, but I really enjoyed Todd Herman from Seattle. He had a fresh perspective on things, and his background in technology adds to his comments.
-
Williams hasn't subbed in quite awhile. Styne in OK on TV on a panel but I turn on Wilkow when he subs.

I felt the same about Mark Levin.
I guess I like Steyn the best on the list.

The saddest signoff of all time was when Walter Williams announced that "Mrs. Williams" had just passed away.

Steyn in today- on goes Wilkow

Yup.

IMO only Levin or Lewis could succeed Rush and are therefor the best gusts hosts he could possibly get.
