I don't see the attitude changing until these Islamists targets and takes out or injures congressmen, senators, the VP and president etc.  Killing an ambassador isn't enough evidently though.    Until they feel threatened,  and they don't because they have armed guards.   They probably aren't as safe as they probably think they are.
