I wasn't sure where to put this, but since it really is a call to arms, I'll put it here.

Read the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence again. UNDERSTAND what those documents MEAN! Turn off your television and put away the beer. You want 'reality'? Just look outside your comfort zone.

I've been wondering lately how a person gets in touch with like-minded individuals locally. You know they're there. You know that there are guys led by former military, doing drills out in the woods in camo and ghillie suits, sharing knowledge, making contingency plans, firing off some rounds on the weekends. I just don't know how to find them without inadvertently connecting with an undercover FBI officer instead.

I hear ya IDP. At the same time, I don't want to find myself accidentally hooked up with a bunch skinhead's either...or I'll be forced to become the G-man's stooge and really be screwed!
My focus, like many others here no doubt, has been in securing the extended family first. But there are like-minded people who can and should band together. I'm still contemplating the latter.

Exactly. Finding a right-minded group of patriots who have in mind teaching and practicing 2A last resort paramilitary scenarios, that isn't infiltrated by Obama's FBI and isn't a bunch of dirtbag skinheads seems almost impossible unless you start it yourself (no military experience or knowledge here) or you happen to get lucky and hear about one somehow.
It's not like you can take an ad out on Craigslist. That'd all but guarantee you'll end up in one of the two above scenarios.

I've been mulling over an idea...
Get a group together, buy a chunk of land, 20 acres outta do it, and start an all-outdoor all-year shooting range on one parcel. Use some proceeds to fund development of restricted areas for advanced training and the rest of the funds to pay off any debt incurred at acquisition. Then use the range contacts to feel out for potential private "club" membership.
Just a thought anyway...

I have a very small bunch of loosely affiliated people whom I've met, but don't really maintain contact with.
I'm still trying to meet more, and have actually taken to leaving a note on the windshield of a car or p/u truck with certain stickers. Only done it once, w/ no results, but I don't really expect to work.
I did try to get in touch w/ local guys around here via the 'net, but there's no militia presence in MA.
And that's a heck of an idea, Mr. Infinito.

In the last band I was in the bass player turned out to be a neo-nazi. I thought his "skin-head" was an ex-military affectation. I don't know who was more surprised - when I found that out or when he found out I was a conservative. Yes I do - he was so taken aback that he left the band.

That irony continues to perplex me. The part of the country where Revolution was born is now populated by the most decidedly counter-Revolution types to be found anywhere this side of San Fran. They now support the imposition of state authority that in some ways exceeds that of the Crown government we rebelled against in the first place.
Hope you've got a good egress plan in mind! ::thumbsup::
